child viewcontroller doesnot have its own bar. So it does not change anythingsof98789– sof987892015-09-19 22:16:05 +00:00Commented Sep 19, 2015 at 22:16

Correct, the view controllers should share the navigation controller and therefore the navigation bar. However, the navigation controller automatically updates the navigation bar by reading the view controller's title property. This code is tested. Trust me, I know it works. Get rid of the lines where you are manually setting the nav bar title.Philip Hardy– Philip Hardy2015-09-19 22:22:33 +00:00Commented Sep 19, 2015 at 22:22

How are you displaying the child view controller? Are you creating it then pushing it onto the Navigation Controller stack?Philip Hardy– Philip Hardy2015-09-19 22:34:42 +00:00Commented Sep 19, 2015 at 22:34

I am new in ios development so I am not sure technically. But the root table controller is linked with page view controller, that handles the display of the second table as pages.sof98789– sof987892015-09-19 22:43:02 +00:00Commented Sep 19, 2015 at 22:43

How to Tag
A tag is a keyword or label that categorizes your question with other, similar questions. Choose one or more (up to 5) tags that will help answerers to find and interpret your question.
- complete the sentence: my question is about...
- use tags that describe things or concepts that are essential, not incidental to your question
- favor using existing popular tags
- read the descriptions that appear below the tag
If your question is primarily about a topic for which you can't find a tag:
- combine multiple words into single-words with hyphens (e.g. python-3.x), up to a maximum of 35 characters
- creating new tags is a privilege; if you can't yet create a tag you need, then post this question without it, then ask the community to create it for you
