📢 The Global Manifesto is now live! After a year of listening, learning, and working together across regions and sectors, we’re proud to share our collective call to reimagine how we protect boys from sexual violence. The Manifesto lays out our values, goals, and strategies for strengthening protection systems and responses for children in all their diversity. Want to dive deeper? Read the Technical Document for a fuller understanding of the evidence, key concepts, and complexities surrounding sexual violence against boys. A heartfelt thank you to everyone who contributed to the Manifesto across each stage of its development. An international network of NGOs working to end the sexual exploitation of children.
เกี่ยวกับเรา
ECPAT is a growing network of over 124 civil society organizations in over 104 countries working to end the sexual exploitation of children through prostitution; taking action against travelling child sex offenders and tourists; preventing the trafficking of children for sexual purposes; stopping early and forced child marriage, and eliminating the online sexual exploitation of children. We are working to research and better understand this heinous crime; tackle the online sexual exploitation of children; end the trafficking of children for sexual purposes; wind-up the forced and early marriage of children; and bring a halt to the sexual exploitation of children through the travel and tourism industry. We advocate for a stronger legal environment to protect children; raise awareness among the public about the problem, and help survivors and victims to come to terms with what has happened to them – and better understand their rights.

“The more you talk about abuse, the more it will happen.” This is what #ChildProtection professionals in #Pakistan often heard when raising the issue of sexual violence against boys—a topic clouded by stigma, denial, and resistance. The Child Rights Group of the Pakistan Paediatric Association chose persistence over silence. They kept records of cases, built alliances, adapted their language to be understood, and found ways to keep the issue visible. Step by step, their persistence slowly broke the silence, showing how collaboration and steady advocacy can open space for change. 🔍 Read more in the latest ECPAT International #GlobalBoysInitiative case study on Pakistan: https://lnkd.in/gwr25sGE

In Pakistan, when doctors and child rights professionals began speaking about sexual violence against boys, the reaction was strong. Some denied the problem altogether, perceiving it as too sensitive, too risky, and too shameful to bring into public discussion. When the Child Rights Group of the Pakistan Paediatric Association decided to break that silence, they quickly learned how controversial it could be. But instead of stepping back, they took another path. They built credibility slowly within their professional networks. They created safe ways to engage with boy survivors and hear their experiences. They found ways to keep the issue visible, even when resistance was strong. Their experience shows that even in the most challenging contexts, change is possible when there is consistency, patience, and collective action.
