For the first time in history, we have enough public fintech companies to construct a meaningful index of disruptors. I’m so excited to release our F-Prime Fintech Index. 54 companies met our criteria and we will add more as they qualify.

I finally get it. Banning state pensions from considering ESG goals extends Ayn Rand's philosophy to investing. Not only are you allowed to ignore the impact of your investments on the world around you -- you are virtuous when you ignore them. That's sad.

#fintech peaked higher and fell farther. F-Prime Fintech Index down 71% in 2022. The absolute valuations are even more stunning: Sezzle, Root, Bakkt, Katapult below $100M, despite raising ~$2B. 4 more hovering in that valuation range. on.wsj.com/3WFCvgF

As public tech stock valuations corrected harder and faster than privates, I've wondered if PE firms would start roll-up strategies by taking a platform private. Expense-mgt players should not be surprised when Coupa and Thomas Bravo come knocking.

Interesting, and disturbing, data connecting rising economic inequality with higher stock prices. We talk about lowering barriers to wealth creation ⁦ala ⁦⁦@RobinhoodApp⁩, ⁦@Betterment⁩ ⁦@solofunds⁩ but this is a systemic headwind

Inequality in Society Drives Stock-Market Performance
Raise inequality and demand for stocks goes up, and so do prices. The question is whether we are at a turning point in how wealth is shared.
