Welcoming Alma Har’el to the Somesuch Roster for UK & Netherlands representation. 💫 Alma is a world-renowned filmmaker celebrated for her genre‑blurring work that fuses documentary and narrative with striking imagery and poetic intimacy, with a portfolio spanning music videos, film, TV, advertising and photography. Most recently, she wrote and directed a thriller‑inspired spot for Coach’s Not Just for Walking campaign ‘Soho Sneaker’, starring Charles Melton, playfully channelling paranoia and spontaneity as Charles evades paparazzi while memorising lines. A pioneer in championing equality in media, Alma founded FREE THE WORK, a non-profit initiative that reshaped advertising’s bidding process and drove inclusive hiring practices across 180 countries. She also conceived TIME’s 100 Women of the Year project, which recognised the contributions of female leaders, innovators, activists, entertainers, athletes and artists who defined the last century. Alma continues to direct bold, visionary work across her practice. Discover a selection of Alma’s work here: https://lnkd.in/gTikfMTf

Welcoming Kahlil Joseph to the Somesuch roster for exclusive UK & Netherlands representation. Kahlil is a filmmaker and visual artist whose ability to craft deeply emotional, visually captivating narratives that push the boundaries of both film and fine art has solidified his position as one of the most revered auteurs today. Moving fluidly between cinema, journalism, and contemporary art, Kahlil’s practice often centres on the aesthetics of Black life and consciousness. His first feature-length film, ‘BLKNWS: Terms & Conditions’ which premiered at this year’s Sundance Film Festival blends archival footage, scripted scenes, and real-world interviews to explore the landscape of contemporary media and collective memory, marking a new chapter in Joseph’s ongoing experiment with form, authorship, and the future of cinematic language.

Introducing Somesuch Editions, our new publishing imprint. Launching with Use the Words You Have, the debut novel by Kimberly Campanello on June 23. Unfurling over a hot Breton summer as American student K’s love affair with an older local ignites her self-actualisation as a woman and writer, Use the Words You Have is an erotic and cinematic coming-of-age story that’s also rich in Breton cuisine and culture, French poetry and Italian-American ritual. Following on from Somesuch Stories, Editions will publish an array of fiction and visual art titles. "As a film production company, storytelling has always been at the heart of our business. Having now published our arts journal Somesuch Stories for over a decade, launching a fiction and visual arts imprint is a natural evolution." —Somesuch co-founder, Tim Nash ‘A moving meditation on the capacity of language and love to shape us… saturated in sun and salt water, drenched in heat and longing.’—author, Jessica Andrews ‘Composed in a delicate, aching space between nostalgia and desire, between the past and eternity, Use the Words You Have shimmers like light on a sea recollected across decades.’—author, Rob Doyle
