Last night, we had the privilege of hosting a Black History Month event in partnership with the Aleto Foundation – a charity, at SThree, we’re proud to work closely with. The theme of the evening was Power and Presence: Standing Firm in Power and Pride. The room was filled with inspiring individuals; Aleto trustees, senior leaders from SThree, and Aleto alumni members. We heard from poets, singers and and an esteemed panel of Alumi's and trustees. Thank you Abigail Kwao, Dr Leanne Armitage, Ivan Beckley, MD, Veronica Martin OBE for sharing your inspirational stories and providing further guidance on mentorship, mindset and different approaches to life - both professionally and personally. It was an evening of connection and celebration, a powerful reminder of the strength that comes from community and shared purpose.

Last week marked an important moment for SThree. Hosting are large-scale thought-leadership event at our London HQ: AI in Action: Shaping the Future of Higher Education, in partnership with UCISA. The conversations reminded me of how fast AI is moving into the heart of every sector, higher education included. Opportunities, challenges, and new responsibilities are emerging in real time. The organisations that thrive will be those that not only adopt technology, but also build the right mindset to lead through change. That was the focus of our COO, Nick Folkes, in his keynote on the power of a digital-first strategy. Nicks message, digital transformation isn’t a project or a programme - it’s a way of thinking, a discipline, and ultimately a leadership choice. For me, that’s where SThree has a vital role to play. We don’t just connect talent to opportunity; we help organisations anticipate what’s next and prepare their people for it. Because without the skills and mindset, technology cannot deliver its full potential. A huge thank you to UCISA and to the panel of expert speakers who brought diverse perspectives to the discussion. And of course, to the SThree teams who made this event possible. AI is already reshaping the future of work, of education, and of business. The question for leaders is not if it will change your organisation, but how ready you are when it does?

In an article I wrote for the World Economic Forum Agenda blog, I explore why the shortage of STEM professionals is no longer just a workforce issue, it is a strategic challenge that affects national competitiveness, economic resilience and the future of innovation itself. Many countries risk falling behind due to systemic gaps in leadership, infrastructure, and trust. Organisations must respond by cultivating leadership that inspires, not just manages. In Q3, SThree delivered a modest sequential improvement, with FY25 guidance reiterated. Group net fees were down 12% year-on-year, though performance was supported by a return to growth in the US, our second largest market. Although the Group has seen positive momentum in certain markets and verticals, macro uncertainty has persisted for longer than expected, impacting levels of new business activity, which are expected to remain subdued into FY26. Digital transformation is easy to talk about. It’s much harder to deliver. That’s why I’m proud to share the progress we’re making on the global rollout of our Technology Improvement Programme, spanning 11 countries, all brands, and every function. And importantly, still on track to be delivered on time and on budget. We made this investment for a reason. As the global STEM workforce consultancy, our role goes beyond placing talent. We advise businesses, build expert teams, and deliver project solutions - helping our clients outpace tomorrow, together. We haven’t just changed a system, Over the last three years, we have completely replaced it. To achieve that across 11 countries is nothing short of incredible, and proof that people can count on us. Transformation is never easy. We’ve made thousands of decisions, learned a lot, and while not everything is perfect, much of it we got right. And today, we stand with a system on track to be delivered on time and on budget. This transformation strengthens the way we operate and ensures we can give even more back to clients , through sharper insights, faster delivery, and smarter solutions. And while McKinsey reports that 70% of large-scale transformations fail, this rollout shows what’s possible when you stay true to your values: being all in, building partnerships, thinking big, and doing the right thing. The outcome is clear: by transforming ourselves, we’re better positioned to help STEM businesses transform too, bringing skilled people together to build the future. My thanks go to our senior leaders for their guidance, our transformation team for their execution, and the entire SThree community for embracing change. Together, we are proving what it means to outpace tomorrow.

When I think about what makes SThree different, its not just the services we provide, it’s the way we partner with our clients. Last week, stepping aboard the SThree boat at SAIL Amsterdam brought that to life. We don’t drop in, deliver, and disappear. We consult, we co-create, and we build solutions around what matters most. That’s what being a true strategic partner means: navigating today’s complexity while preparing for what comes next. Because success isn’t only about solving the challenges in front of us - it’s about anticipating tomorrow’s. Whether it’s AI, workforce transformation, or the next big shift in STEM, our role is to advise on future trends and ensure our clients are ready to lead, not just adapt. That’s what partnership means to me. Outpace tomorrow, together.
