ADVICE FOR ECOM FOUNDERS CHOOSING AGENCY PARTNERS: Most agencies aren’t great - and here’s why: Systemising results at scale is hard. It’s one thing to get great results for one client (anyone can do that with enough focus and effort). It’s an entirely different game to deliver consistent results across 35+ brands, month after month. That’s why there’s often real value in partnering with a larger, more established agency. Their business maturity means they’ve already built the proven, battle-tested systems required to perform at scale. Of course, there are exceptions, but in our experience talking with eCom founders every day, this tends to hold true.

Most Health Tech founders don't realise this.... You can get MDR-compliant using the tools you love. Most companies build their Quality Management System (QMS) and their technical file in some separate tool that only 2-3 people look at. Which makes zero sense. If your QMS is supposed to be everywhere, why put it in a place where no one ever goes? That's why I'm such a big believer in using Notion as your MDR backbone. It’s where your team already works (or wants to work). It’s perfect for projects, tasks and documentation anyway. And, let’s be honest, it’s a massive company with huge tech and AI teams releasing updates every month. Credit ratings have guided lenders for over 100 years. Yet startups—the engine of innovation—still have no equivalent for investment. The urgency for change could not be higher. UK economic growth is floundering. 90% of startups/SMEs cannot get the funding they need to grow. Investment by pension funds in startups is virtually non-existent. The current wave of AI-driven innovation—and the data infrastructure that supports it—won’t come around again for another 20 years. Bold and quick action is required to increase investment and the clock is ticking. The Mansion House Accord provides the mandate, and the market is ready. Investability ratings will add value to the NOVA scheme and now is the moment to turn investability ratings from an idea into a system that helps drives prosperity.
