A HISTORY OF LEADERSHIP
Symbios Logic engineers developed and introduced the world's first SCSI protocol
chip, the first OEM RAID chip set and the first Fibre Channel RAID Controller
board.
We hold over 33 percent of the worldwide SCSI chip market, and 15 percent of the worldwide marketshare in disk and tape drive electronics. We're the third largest supplier of OEM RAID subsystems in the world. Our leadership position is important for one reason: time after time, the biggest breakthroughs are available first from Symbios Logic. When we lead the way, you do, too.
A RICH HERITAGE
Our name is
new, but at Symbios Logic, our history spans nearly a quarter-century. Symbios
Logic Inc. is a wholly owned, independently operated subsidiary of Hyundai
Electronics America (HEA) and was established on February 15, 1995, with HEA's
purchase of the Company from AT&T Global Information Solutions Co.
Originally established as NCR Microelectronics Products Division in Miamisburg,
Ohio in 1972, Symbios Logic grew from an in-house semiconductor supplier for NCR
computer products into a global manufacturing concern. By 1981, 70 percent of
our semiconductor products were sold to outside customers. In 1993, NCR's
storage business was merged into the Microelectronics Product Division to
leverage the OEM opportunities to sell RAID technology. Today Symbios Logic
sells directly to a worldwide base of OEMs as well as through a network of VARs.
Headquartered in Fort Collins, Colorado, Symbios Logic also has locations in
Wichita, Kansas and Colorado Springs, Colorado, plus 20 worldwide sales offices.
The Company employs 2,400 people worldwide.
