Royal Dutch Shell plc (ENXTAM:RDSA) has put up for sale oil blocks in Nigeria. High quality global journalism requires investment. The joint venture, which also includes Total SA (ENXTPA:FP) and Eni SpA (BIT:ENI), has circulated documents to prospective buyers of oil licenses 18, 24, 25 and 29, according to two people familiar with the situation.
Eni SpA (BIT:ENI) is considering the divestment of its 50% stake in GasVersorgung Süddeutschland GmbH and terranets bw GmbH, Stuttgarter Zeitung reported on October 2, 2013. EnBW Energie Baden-Wuerttemberg AG (DB:EBK) which holds the remaining 50%, has the pre-emptive right to buy the shares of Eni SpA. However, EnBW is said to not be willing to buy the stake on its own but rather with its two shareholders - the state of Baden-Wuerttemberg and OEW Energie-Beteiligungs GmbH. The rumours have not been commented officially by the involved parties.
Eni SpA will invest a total EUR 8 billion in four years in Italy and will focus its research also on renewable energy. The company will invest EUR 2 billion annually in the next four years in oil refining, petrol-chemicals and research.
