DNSSEC Workshop & Meeting
September 13-15: Moroni, Union of the Comoros

Alain Aina of NSRC is leading and teaching a DNSSEC workshop in cooperation with ICANN to engineers of the Comoro Islands located to the north-west of Madagascar. Aina has worked for NSRC, AfriNIC, WACREN, and volunteers with Internet Society, IETF and the ICANN Security and Stability Advisory Committee, in addition to working with numerous Internet Service Providers in West Africa for many years. Another goal of the meeting was to formalize adoption of DNSSEC into the .KM ccTLD with coordination by Ali Hadji Mmadi, Comore Telecom, and Yaovi Atohoun, ICANN.

intERLab: BGP Peering Workshop
May 17-20: Bangkok, Thailand

Philip Smith of NSRC, Kittinan Sriprasert of BKNIX and Viriphan Samadi from the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) taught a 4-day workshop on BGP peering as a follow-on to the 2017 BKNIX Peering Forum.

Direct Engineering Assistance at University of Guam
May 15-19: Mangilao, Guam

Hans Kuhn (NSRC), David Teach (University of Oregon) and John Hess (CENIC joined network engineers at the University of Guam for five days of intensive, hands-on work at the University of Guam main campus in Mangilao. A few photos from the event are available here.

NSRC-Internet2 Fellows at Internet2 Global Summit
April 23-26: Washington D.C., USA

NSRC and Internet2 teamed up to sponsor fellows Kanchana Kanchanasut of the Asian Institute of Technology (AIT) and Sarah Kiden of Uganda Christian University (UCU) and the Research and Education Network for Uganda (RENU) to attend the 2017 Internet Global Summit. Sarah Kiden wrote a blog entry about her experience at the event available here and photos of the Fellows are available on photos.nsrc.org.

CAREN Campus Network Design and Operations Workshop
April 20-24: Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan
