    Rosalind Franklin was born in 1920. Many say she should have been awarded a Nobel Prize as her experimental data provided important evidence that led to the solving of DNA structure. However she died two years before Watson, Crick and Wilkins were nominated for the prize.

    In mid-July 1837, Charles Darwin started his "B" notebook on Transmutation of Species, and on page 36 wrote "I think" above his first evolutionary tree (see image). Charles Darwin died almost 20 years before the Nobel Prizes started to be awarded and is not a Nobel Laureate.
