kawaiicon has a speaker nap room! I really wish all conferences did that. I shall submit a proposal, just in the hope of taking an officially sanctioned nap at a conference.

Human users of Secure Scuttlebutt are known as "butts", which is "a great gender neutral collective noun" - and also, in my opinion, a great classifier alongside bots: Who are my users? But or Bot?

can anyone explain why react is all: const = ANGRY_VARIABLE_THAT_EQUALS_ITSELF = "ANGRY_VARIABLE_THAT_EQUALS_ITSELF" why not just use a string literal? seems like a lot of extra typing to be able to drop the "

update: offered to add accelerated vesting to my severance package. since the original severance package contains a non-disparagement clause (among other things), i rejected this offer, and declined to sign the original agreement

so i was laid off from last friday, one month before my vesting cliff. if you're not familiar with how options generally work at startups, this means i will not be able to exercise the stock options i was granted as part of my hiring package
