For what it's worth I enjoyed @tmcw article, but also know I have had something of a crush on him since 2012. For interactive things: SPA's for the win. But simple blogs, cms-like corporate pages and things etc. are much better served with static site-gens, imo
JavaScript is beautiful. I wish I had started studying it seriously much earlier.
lol the senior dev might have written the worse code though. react helps with other things too; - testability - less side effects - readability - documentation
