If you like this joke, you should watch all of Tambourine. It's great. I wrote about it here.https://www.fastcompany.com/40531385/chris-rocks-netflix-special-is-the-standup-comeback-youve-been-waiting-for …

It's worse than even this. No one ever completes the phrase. It's "a few bad apples will spoil the bunch". You have to remove the bad apples to prevent the rest from spoiling. But because of the thin blue line, the rest cover for the bad ones, so it's no longer a few.
-
Fastest way to have the bunch remove the bad ones would to have any and all settlement $ for violations not come out of the cities general fund but pull it directly out of the Police Unions retirement fund.

On top of that, the original saying is "one bad apple spoils the whole bunch".
-
But people who say to get rid of the police period are missing the point. You’re not addressing the actual problem. It’s not “they need to go” it’s “they need to ensure that the people in this position can’t do bad shit”

I’ll never forget Seinfeld getting pulled over during “Comedians in Cars,” and Chris Rock saying, “Still black.” It’s heartbreaking and just completely wrong.
-
Rock also had a joke in one of his shows about how no white person would ever trade places with him even tho he’s rich and famous. He made it funny but it’s infuriating.

Saw it live in Vegas. Watched two cops and wives get uncomfortable in front of us and leave. I laughed them out the door.
-
That's what Chris does best, brings up uncomfortable topics head on. He doesn't care, just like when they told him "No Jussie Smolett jokes" that's like telling water not to be wet
