Kingston is recognized as a community rich in arts, heritage and culture that benefit residents and make the city an attractive place for visitors to explore and enjoy.
City-run facilities and programs, combined with Council approved policies and strategies, aim to nurture, sustain and preserve the cultural elements that enrich the life of the city.

Committed to culture
The City is winding down work related to the implementation of the Kingston Culture Plan approved by Council in 2010. The Plan was developed to guide the ongoing cultural development of Kingston and outlined the role of the municipality in advancing its objectives. Today, culture continues to be a focus of Council’s Strategic Priorities especially related to economic development and healthy citizens.
