Have a PR waiting for that makes the blinkstick-python library compatible with 3.10. Getting this in the main repo and pypi will make it way easier to push a PR through to get the lights running with again. Could you have a look?

The app I played around with is super niche: a #MTG Winston Cube Simulator.
It can now load custom lists (copy-paste the contents from a CSV or a URL) and images are fetched from . Feel free to have a look at 4dcu.be/WinstonCubeSim code is up on my github !

Was testing out last weekend, but still picked up a few new tricks from 's tutorial. Worth watching if you want to do more #Python and less #javascript .

Are you excited about @pyscript_dev? But do you wish there was more of a general web dev focus? Maybe you could even do without that long load time? What if it was just an app on your OS? Here's the roadmap I put together this weekend. I hope you love it!

Being a #postdoc is hard! There's a lot of uncertainty. I wrote about my challenges during the #pandemic as a postdoc in a World View. #postdoclife #academia #AcademicMentalHealth #academicchatter

Fortunately the difference would be considerably smaller here in Belgium. However an insightful way to look at this!

"Should I do a post-doc after my PhD or go right into industry? I want to see if I can get an academic job."
I grappled with this same question three years ago. Instead, I wish I would have asked myself this:
"Would I pay $120,000 for the *chance* at an academic job?" 1/

Iron status, HIV and the gut microbiome might be closely connected. New findings suggest that oral iron supplementation can improve iron status without increasing pathogenic gut microbial taxa or gut inflammation in iron-depleted South African children

Thank you VRT for this report. I agree with my colleague @Dbourabain that this is a symptom of The University in crisis in Belgium. PhDs have increasingly become labour to keep up in a race to the bottom to publish, resulting in abuse such as this. #pano vrt.be/vrtnws/nl/2022

I'm def still using matplotlib aplenty. But I have found myself doing more and more altair in the past year and less matplotlib.
If you're curious, I've made a course that tries to explain why.
