This year we made tremendous progress in helping writers grow.
One year ago, the Substack network drove ~10% of free subscriptions.
Today, Substack's network is the source of 40% of all free subscriptions.

If you're a content creator, I can genuinely say that substack has been phenomenal and I'd recommend it highly.
They take care of virtually everything involving the site, billing, etc, so I can just worry about content.

2022 was the Year That Substack Saved my Life: The world doesn't owe any writer success. But man, I needed a win. And this past year, Substack gave me one. via ayrshare.com

I'm happy to say that I'm now on Substack and, for the first time, everything I write and every interview I give will be in one place. I'll soon start doing chats and podcasts there as well. Please check it out! I'd appreciate it.

I left 12+ years on WordPress for a reason. So far, Substack has paid off for me.

I started a substack in 2020 + it was one of the best decisions I've ever made for my career.
More time on writing, less time on marketing--sums it up *perfectly*.
If you're feeling angsty/itchy about social media, too, I highly recommend checking it out.

As a person of honor I would never, ever say "find me on Substack" without something to show for it, so I wrote my first new Substack in over a year. And now, you can find me on Substack.

I just subscribed to Welcome to Garbagetown, 's new Substack.
Twitter may die, but our community doesn't have to. I like reading the essays and updates I've been getting through Substack.

Substack has made me spend more time reading blogs again instead of scrolling through people posting bullshit on Twitter for attention, and...damn. I'd forgotten how smart and reasonable bloggers are.

Oh for heaven’s sake, *another* thing I totally have to sign up for. The moment all of my fave reads are on I won’t need Twitter any more anyway.

My new podcast is called Pixie-Led. It's about weird things, psychedelic things, folkloric things, slightly magic and inexplicable things in the mist of culture and landscape and life. The first episode is now up & you can listen here: tomcox.substack.com/p/episode-1-th

Right now, over 68 Substack writers have added me to their recommended lists, and it’s driven over 4,000 signups thus far."
