Vans Is Gearing Up LA Dodgers Fans for Another World Series Run With Two Distressed Sneakers

A Sk8-Hi and Era will both drop during the divisional series round.

The Los Angeles Dodgers are awaiting their divisional series matchup to kick off their pursuit of a third consecutive World Series title, and Vans has cooked up a duo of sneakers to outfit fans for another postseason run.

The Los Angeles Dodgers x Vans Sk8-Hi and Era deliver heaps of team branding and a combo of distressing and patchwork-like assembly to separate the shoes from your baseline sports merch. Dodger blue panels are mixed with hits of a slightly faded blue and white checkerboard print throughout both uppers, which also carry several different styles of exaggerated stitching including that found on a baseball. Pre-distressed holes reveal different swatches underneath, and the soles come looking scruffy just like on numerous hits from Vans over the past year or so.

Further uniting both sneakers are mismatched outsoles featuring both logos.

For the Sk8-Hi, the upper’s medial side hosts both the full Dodgers script and the LA logo, the latter of which repeats at the top of the heel. Also wrapping around the heel is a massive embroidered Dodgers patch. Yet another LA logo appears on the outsole, a detail that repeats on the Era as well.

With less real estate to play with, the Era hosts Dodgers script embroidery beneath the eyelets of its medial side and a more reasonably sized LA patch on the heel.

The arrival of Vans’ team-sanctioned sneakers come just a couple months after Nike released its second Kobe sneaker invoking the Dodgers in an unofficial capacity. A Kobe 6 Protro kicked things off last year and was followed up by a Kobe 5 Protro that released alongside an Air Force 1 Low Protro bearing Kobe Bryant’s signature.

The Los Angeles Dodgers x Vans Sk8-Hi and Era will release Friday in select Vans stores and Oct. 9 through its website. Pricing is set at $140 for the Sk8-Hi and $120 for the Era.
