Project Kuiper is Amazon’s low Earth orbit satellite network, and our mission is to deliver fast, reliable internet to customers and communities around the world. Our initial satellite constellation will include more than 3,200 spacecraft, which we began deploying in April 2025 when we sent our first 27 satellites into space. That mission was the first of more than 80 to deploy our constellation.

Upcoming missions

KF-03: Next Kuiper mission set for Wednesday, October 8
SpaceX is targeting Wednesday, October 8, for Amazon’s KF-03 mission. Named KF-03 for Amazon’s third launch on a SpaceX Falcon 9 rocket, the mission will send another 24 Kuiper satellites to low Earth orbit, bringing the total number of Kuiper spacecraft launched to date to 153 satellites. The mission will launch from Space Launch Complex 40 at Cape Canaveral Space Force Station in Florida, with liftoff set for 9:56 p.m. ET.
Falcon 9 will deploy the satellites at an altitude of 289 miles (465 kilometers) above Earth, at which point the Kuiper team will take command from our mission operations center in Redmond, Washington. From there, we perform initial satellite health checks and prepare to raise the satellites to their assigned altitude of 392 miles (630 km), where they will be fully commissioned as part of our operational satellite constellation.
