Same-Day Delivery
Prime members shipping to select metro areas across Australia can choose to receive Free Same-Day Delivery on a broad selection of items with a minimum spend.
How do I get Same-Day Delivery?
You can get Same-Day Delivery in two ways:
Prime members can take advantage of Prime Free Same-Day Delivery by:
- Place orders before the Same-Day Delivery order cut-off time. The "Order within" countdown timer provides the window of time in which you must place the order to receive your delivery by the date shown. That delivery date may become unavailable during that time due to changes in inventory or delivery capacity before you place your order. We'll include your confirmed delivery date in your order confirmation email.
- Select Same-Day Delivery at Checkout and ensure you're shipping to a residential address. To know the eligibility of your address for same-day shipping, set or update your default shipping address in Your Addresses. This address must be residential and within an eligible postcode for Prime Free Same-Day Delivery.
- Place Same-Day Delivery eligible products in your Cart to count towards the minimum spend. We'll show the shipping discount and delivery time in your Order Summary.
Amazon.com.au customers can also access Same-Day Delivery ($9.99 for Prime members or $12.99 for non-Prime members) available on items that are otherwise eligible for Same-Day Delivery in select postcodes in metro Sydney, Melbourne and Perth.
If your order qualifies for Same-Day Delivery, you must choose "Same-Day" Delivery at Checkout to receive Same-Day Delivery.
Which items are eligible for Same-Day Delivery?
Depending on your location, "Get it Today by 6pm", "Get it Today by 10pm", "Get it Tomorrow by 8am", or "Fastest Delivery: Today" messaging may appear next to select products on Amazon.com.au that are sold or shipped by Amazon AU.
Only these items are eligible for our Same-Day Delivery service. Items that are not sold or shipped by Amazon AU are not eligible for our Same-Day Delivery service. Sometimes, you can only order a certain quantity of items for Same-Day Delivery because multiple units may not be available locally. If so, the option to choose a Same-Day Delivery disappears.

Post Office boxes and business addresses are not eligible for Prime Free Same-Day Delivery or paid Same-Day Delivery.
When can I get Same-Day Delivery?
If your delivery address is eligible for Same-Day Delivery and you order eligible items before the cut-off time, which is displayed as an "Order within" countdown timer on the product detail page and at Checkout, and choose Delivery "Today" or "Today, 5pm-10pm", those items will be delivered by 10pm on the same day.
After the Same-Day Delivery cut-off time has passed, you may have the option to receive your delivery the next day. Delivery speeds and any applicable charges will be confirmed at Checkout, before you complete your order.
If you select one of the "Today, 5pm-10pm" or "Tomorrow, 4am-8am" delivery options at Checkout, you can help create safe and successful deliveries by following these tips:
- Tell Us Where to Leave Your Package: Choose an easy-to-spot delivery location. Update your delivery preferences here or pick another delivery option at Checkout.
- Make Your Home Easy to Find: Make sure your house number is visible from the street. Keep your walkway clear of obstacles. Turn on outdoor lights for early morning or evening deliveries.
- Keep Furry Friends Secure: We love pets, but please keep them secured during delivery times.

What does Same-Day Delivery cost?

If you choose to "deliver as soon as items become available" and other items in your order aren't available yet or are not eligible for Same-Day Delivery your order might be split into multiple deliveries and display different delivery dates. This would mean you may be charged a separate delivery fee (if applicable) for each delivery, depending on the delivery option you select for each shipment at Checkout.
Ineligible or unsuccessful deliveries
If you request delivery to a business address or Post Office box, Same-Day Delivery options may be suppressed at Checkout and, if an order is made, delivery to these addresses will be rejected and returned to Amazon as these addresses are not eligible for Same-Day Delivery.
If nobody is home when a delivery attempt is made, and there is no safe place for the carrier to leave your package, delivery will automatically be attempted again the next working day. Depending on the carrier, re-attempts may occur on weekends, but not on public holidays. The carrier will make up to 3 delivery attempts. If unsuccessful, your package will be returned to Amazon and once received by us, a refund will be issued to your original payment method.
What if I don't receive an item that was eligible for Same-Day Delivery or receive it late?
