This novel will bring you to tears...tears of anger, tears of trustration, tears of sorrow and tears of joy! Hard to listen to at times but so incredibly worth the pain! And the narrators were remarkable! One of the best I have listened to this year!

I really enjoyed this novel. I’ve enjoyed all the books written by Kennedy. This one particularly was very well written. She also was very descriptive to captivate the physical and sexual abuse that Iris experiences. This may be triggering to those who have experienced this type of abuse. Although I do wish there were more chapters specifically with romance and relationship between Iris and August.

The raw emotions this book evokes is something else … knowing that there are women out there that are experiencing or have experienced what Iris’ character has. The anger/rage, frustration and sadness it brings from deep down. I have not read or listening to anything quite like this. The narrators do an amazing job bringing the characters to life. Well done!

The book opened my eyes to a reality too many people go through in silence. This book actually needs a huge trigger warning. But what I learned was important. And the ending warmed my heart. One thing, it’s pronounced ay-too-fay. Lol

It definitely needs a trigger warning, this book has some heavy topics in it. Domestic abuse, sexual abuse/rape, and postpartum depression.

I enjoyed listening to it, but when the male voice would do his girl impression it sounded like Michael Jackson to me and I could never get past that LOL.

Decent story, predictable ending, but overall good. Not really memorable characters, but not bad.

A inspiring story that touches on so many serious and sensitive subjects especially for domestic violence survivors. Raw and emotional with a HEA ending. The narrators did a superb job with setting the tone.

this story has been captivating. I've cried. I've laughed. I smiled. I would re-listen this one a few times related so much with some of it. so many hard topic approach with deep understanding. highly recommend many many triggers be aware.

From the first chapter I was captivated to follow the journey of the main characters. I road the emotional waves with them, laughed with them, cried with them and felt their pain as my own. I listened to this book with anticipation and I couldn’t wait to get to the next chapitre. It was soul crushing listening to the abuse that Iris went through and as a woman it made it even harder. I got angry for her and I was still able to cry with her, but I loved her revenge and reviled it in.

The story is one I will never forget and I have no doubts that although it is a fiction novel that there are women out who know this kink of pain and have trouble escaping it. It is a triggering book, but its only that because we know there is truth in the story for some women.
