As someone who has never really set boundaries, I really liked this book and it has helped me already so I’m very thankful for it. The reading wasn’t as great in my opinion and could have benefited from a professional reading it who could have pitched and paced it a little better so it wasn't so monotone and pitchy in places. That aside a really valuable book.

I’ve been in therapy 3 years now and it’s helped a lot of the pieces of jigsaw fit together as to how I can implement boundaries.

Honestly can’t praise this book enough. Nedra has helped me recognise the impact poor boundaries has had on my relationships, and the part I played in relationships that have been lost. For context, I got a full house on pourous boundaries. I’m a chronic people pleaser and worrier. I kept stopping the audiobook to go apologise to my husband, haha! This book has helped me to be more assertive and say what’s on my mind, though I don’t always get the delivery right! I need to do more work on myself, particularly around finding the line between assertion vs aggression, but I can recognise where in past conversations I made a demand instead of a request, or didn’t set a boundary at all and only hinted at what I wanted in hopes my husband picked up on it. Definitely going to give it another listen, but first I’m going to work through Nedras exercise book that goes hand in hand with this one. My husband says my communication has gotten much better since listening to Nedra. I’m more likely to remain calm during a disagreement while stating what I want, rather than angrily expressing frustration or inwardly spiralling about how my marriage is falling apart because we are fighting. I’m not perfect and still have a lot to learn, but this was an excellent and much needed journey. Thank you x

Loved the exercises and challenge to the way we think about saying 'no' whenever we do not feel like doing something. it is also helpful with tips as to setting boundaries with everyone, compared to building walls which are indiscriminate. All boundaries differ according to the person you are dealing with, this book has helped me to contemplate on this further and become more comfortable to be assertive.

So much more than a book about boundries, which if mastered would be enough in itself. Author’s assertiveness when reading impowers and gives that I got your back, you can do this feeling of reassurance.
Recommended, highly recommended.
