if you pay attention hard enough in the beginning chapters it can become predictable in the end. however, lots of great references to the games and even a few jabs at the game physics I thought were clever

I am so glad I started listening to this book. The more I hear, the harder it is to put it down. Great story, good proformance he paints such a good picture telling the story. If you enjoy the Diablo games, you will enjoy and love this book.
I can't wait to start the next book in the series.

As some one who tries to consume as much Diablo lore there is out there i can absolutely recommend this story. Not perfect but a very entertaining listen. It gives you an extra angle on some of the big names in the history of the overall story.

Front start to finish, this book had me wanting to hop in the car for my commute to, and from, work. Josh Clark is an amazing narrator, and sealed the deal on getting Diablo: The Black Road.

I have never aged the games before so this was great introduction to the series!!

the narrator brought this whole story together, his attention to each characters descriptions matched the voices he used for each one making all the characters quite unique in their own way!! the way he was able to instantly switch to their voices and back to his made the whole book more engaging.

this is a great start into the franchise, I see myself playing the game series now, this book is about NPCs in the game, which helps make it more atmospheric; bought the second book and ninth book (since the other ones are not available on Audible :( but I look forward nonetheless!)

best read yet!!

I read the book back when it came out and hearing it on audio was just as great and did a great job of portraying the environments from the game as well

Great job, Josh Clark! I enjoy stories where each character has its own voice. Kudos to Richard Knaak for a compelling story that includes characters from the Diablo 2 video game.
