Alida Nugent graduated college with a degree in one hand and a drink in the other, eager to trade in parties and all-nighters for "the real world". But post-grad wasn't the glam life she imagined. Soon buried under a pile of bills, laundry, and three-dollar bottles of wine, it quickly became clear that she had no idea what she was doing. But hey, what twentysomething does?

In Don't Worry, It Gets Worse, Nugent shares what it takes to make the awkward leap from undergrad to "mature and responsible adult that definitely never eats peanut butter straight from the jar and considers it a meal". From trying to find an apartment on the black hole otherwise known as Craigslist to the creative maneuvering needed to pay off student loans and still enjoy happy hour, Nugent documents the formative moments of being a twentysomething with a little bit of snark and a lot of heart. Perfect for fans of HBO's Girls and Allie Brosh's Hyperbole and a Half, and based on her popular Tumblr blog The Frenemy, Don't Worry, It Gets Worse is a love note to boozin', bitchin' ladies everywhere.

What did you like best about Don't Worry, It Gets Worse? What did you like least?

Alida Nugent is funny, witty & clever. I enjoyed her narration and stories about her life... but a several chapters in I realized that at 27 years old I couldn't relate. I would have really loved this book five years ago. So while I didn't finish the book... It did make me feel better about my current state in life. :)

Don't read if you're over 25.

Would you listen to Don't Worry, It Gets Worse again? Why?

Perhaps, but it is unusual for me to listen to a book more than once.

Interesting and funny memoir by 20 something girl

Would you recommend this audiobook to a friend? If so, why?

Yes, especially my twenty-something lady friends. Very relatable and, honestly, kind of comforting to know that not only does not everyone have their lives together, some of them have it way less together than I do. Ha!

What about Alida Nugent’s performance did you like?

Alida Nugent is a writer, not a professional narrator, and that shows. Her tone wasn't as conversational as I prefer in a narrator, but that was made up for by the authenticity in her storytelling.

made me feel like a pretty successful adult.
