Praised as “an intense rush of rebellion and romance” by #1 New York Times bestselling author Stephanie Garber, this romantic and layered debut from Abigail Hing Wen is “a roller-coaster ride of romance and self-discovery.” (Kirkus)

“Our cousins have done this program,” Sophie whispers. “Best kept secret. Zero supervision.

And just like that, Ever Wong’s summer takes an unexpected turn. Gone is Chien Tan, the strict educational program in Taiwan that Ever was expecting. In its place, she finds Loveboat: a summer-long free-for-all where hookups abound, adults turn a blind eye, snake-blood sake flows abundantly, and the nightlife runs nonstop.

But not every student is quite what they seem:

Ever is working toward becoming a doctor but nurses a secret passion for dance.

Rick Woo is the Yale-bound child prodigy bane of Ever’s existence whose perfection hides a secret.

Boy-crazy, fashion-obsessed Sophie Ha turns out to have more to her than meets the eye.

And under sexy Xavier Yeh’s shell is buried a shameful truth he’ll never admit.

When these students’ lives collide, it’s guaranteed to be a summer Ever will never forget.

Good story of coming of age as second generation Asian American. The roller coaster ride you take emotionally through this story.

Great story

I didn't expect to be just as torn as Ever between Xavier and Rick. I wanted them both to win but the ending had me in tears and was more realistic and absolutely perfect! I'm a dancer/marching band geek and (though not Asian but a minority) I related completely with Ever's character and struggles. I'm a total fan!

Surprisingly Good!

So worth the credit. Can't wait to listen to the sequel. The culture is so interesting.

LOVE, LOVE, LOVED IT!!!

Before I bought this, I didn’t quite realize it was a teen drama. I almost returned it. The first 2-3 chapters were a bit dull and very angsty, but the story eventually picked up and got interesting. The narrator did a good job conveying emotion. If you don’t like teen dramas, you might want to skip this. It was very well written though, unlike a lot of books in this genre. I really did like it in the end and it had a lot of great themes, like being true to yourself, being proud of who you are and your culture, as well as the joy and fulfillment you get from helping others as opposed to being selfish. I’m glad I listened to it. It was worth the credit.
