Editorial Review

Hit your step goal to find you
I’ve been on a walking kick in an attempt to replace some of the sedentary habits I picked up during the throes of seasonal depression (like forgoing any sort of movement in favor of eating chips on the couch). So imagine my delight when I learned of a way to work on my emotional and mental fitness while I rack up my step count. Mindful Walking with Headspace is a new three-part Audible Original series that connects listeners to their minds and bodies through a collection of serene guided practices intended to be enjoyed on strolls throughout the day: morning, noon, and night. With each part containing seven distinct sessions, every day promises a fresh start to process negative emotions while gaining positive insights. Plus, I had the chance to chat with the meditation experts who made this series possible—Kessonga Giscombe, Rosie Acosta, Eve Lewis Prieto, and Dora Kamau.—Rachael X., Audible Editor

I'm a headspace subscriber and was happy to hear the familiar voices of Kessonga, Dora, and Eve. I didn't read the audio description before starting, so was thrown off when it seemed to be all about body positivity. It started making more sense when the second section (setting intentions) started. after the walk I actually read the description, and see that you can pick the focus topic by jumping to the chapter that sounds interesting. each one is about 25 minutes long.

I loved the way these meditations were set up. I could end one and come back to the next seamlessly, on my next walk. The introduction was an excellent foundation to get started. The instructors were incredibly knowledgeable and I enjoyed their guidance on the walks, but they were also effortless storytellers as well. This collection is now part of my library, and I know I will return to it many times!

Calming and educational

Overall, quite engaging, and there's enough depth packed into the short 3-hour audio. Definitely worth a short.

Great variety

I almost did not give this book a chance after reading the only other review at the time which was a 1 star review. The review stated that the book is written for a child. Then I started thinking about the concepts of "monkey mind", and my own mind and how hard it is to control, and I thought maybe the original reviewer has mastered his mind, but my mind definitely needs kid level treatment when it comes to stillness. Based on a 1 star expectation it has been greatly exceeded.

Uniquely satisfying
