The crews of Jean-Luc Picard, Benjamin Sisko, Ezri Dax, and William Riker unite to prevent a cosmic-level apocalypse - only to find that some fates really are inevitable.

Starfleet’s finest faces a challenge unlike any other

Tomorrow is doomed.

Time is coming apart. Countless alternate and parallel realities are under attack, weakening and collapsing from relentless onslaught. If left unchecked, the universe faces an unstoppable descent toward entropy.

Wanderer, oracle, ally

Scarred and broken after decades spent tracking this escalating temporal disaster, while battling the nameless enemy responsible for it, an old friend seeks assistance from Captain Jean-Luc Picard and the crew of the Starship Enterprise. The apocalypse may originate from their future, but might the cause lie in their past?

Everything that will be

Identifying their adversary is but the first step toward defeating them, but early triumphs come with dreadful costs. What will the price be to achieve final victory, and how will that success be measured in futures as yet undefined?

Two of the greatest franchises in the last half century, Star Trek and Star Wars have a 20 year extended universe of tie in novels.
Both franchises have been revived in recent years to varying degrees of quality.
However as the very familiar Star Trek The Next Generation Series Finale Reflects within this novel franchise finale, All Good Things must end eventually.
Rather than repeating the fate of the Star Wars EU, Star Trek's EU gets to go out with a bang that will literally destroy it's multiverse so that like highlander, there can be only one universe, CBS's Prime Time Line of Star Trek Picard and Star Trek Discovery.
The Story of the first novel by Dayton Ward is astounding!
A Crises Of Infinite Treks level plot that will grab your imagination from the first page to the last.
Characters that we know and love struggling against a quantum threat that intends to collapse the multiverse and wipe out all of existence.
Book 1 of 3,(Moment's Asunder) is a thrilling beginning to what seems like one unforgettable finale to one of the greatest series in the Star Trek Franchise, The Star Trek EU!

Star Trek: Coda is bringing to a close decades of storytelling that, like many other older franchises, were the continuing adventures of characters we had learn to love on screen, but found a deeper appreciation for in print. I haven’t read much of the Star Trek novels over the years. But I want to read this one because it’s giving the closure that Star Wars never did, acknowledging one timeline is coming to an end, to make room for another. It’s difficult, with the stories my generation grew up in getting rebooted, and subsequently the stories that sustained us overtime being washed away, to find a way to make the transition that respects both the old and new versions of the franchise. I feel like Coda is attempting to do that, and book one has done an excellent job.

The beginning of a fitting end.

Loved the tie-ins even though it seems all over the place. Knowing some of the back stories helps. Can’t wait to see what happens next in Coda Book
