After nearly eighteen months at Basgiath War College, Violet Sorrengail knows there’s no more time for lessons. No more time for uncertainty.

Because the battle has truly begun, and with enemies closing in from outside their walls and within their ranks, it’s impossible to know who to trust.

Now Violet must journey beyond the failing Aretian wards to seek allies from unfamiliar lands to stand with Navarre. The trip will test every bit of her wit, luck, and strength, but she will do anything to save what she loves—her dragons, her family, her home, and him.

Even if it means keeping a secret so big, it could destroy everything.

They need an army. They need power. They need magic. And they need the one thing only Violet can find—the truth.

But a storm is coming...and not everyone can survive its wrath.

The Empyrean series is best enjoyed in order.

When you have a character who has not just her own thoughts, but the thoughts of another person and two dragons playing in her head, it was really difficult to tell who was saying what when the narrator has barely discernible voice changes for them. It made it so hard to follow the story, which I think was great. I’ll be listening again once the dramatized adaptation comes out in a few months because I was disappointed with this version.

Wait for the dramatized adaptation

I absolutely love this story!! It kept me guessing with every twist and turn. The only thing I don’t like is the way it ends. Almost like the author just wanted it to end it.

Gave it 3 stars for performance because the voice actor always seemed so angry. Can’t wait for graphic audio ‘s version to come out

Keeps you guessing

We’ve waited however long for this book to come out and that’s how it ends? I get there’s going to be a 4th and 5th book but to end it like that? I hope that there are less chapters about the sexual tension and more on the development of the actual story in the next books.

I want people to know ahead of time Rebecca soler narrates the majority of this book. the other narrators listed only read one chapter each, near the end.

the book was okay. if you liked the military aspects of books 1 and 2, this continues it. yes there are dragons and magic, but the military operations take more precedence. I will reread, and I'm not sad I used a credit... this is the middle of a series, and ends on a cliffhanger. don't start with this book, or you'll be lost.

Im speeches. Absolutely devastated 💔 in the best way! Such a well written 👏 perfect narration literary masterpiece. The only thing I wish is that it was duet narration. Teddy Hamilton would have turned this beautifully written story to something that exceeds godliness!
