Sharon Stone tells her own story: a journey of healing, love, and purpose.
“Not your typical Hollywood autobiography. Brutally honest, restless and questing.” (O, The Oprah Magazine)
Sharon Stone, one of the most renowned actresses in the world, suffered a massive stroke that cost her not only her health, but her career, family, fortune, and global fame. In The Beauty of Living Twice, Stone chronicles her efforts to rebuild her life and writes about her slow road back to wholeness and health. In a business that doesn’t accept failure, in a world where too many voices are silenced, Stone found the power to return, the courage to speak up, and the will to make a difference in the lives of men, women, and children around the globe.
Over the course of these intimate pages, as candid as a personal conversation, Stone talks about her pivotal roles, her life-changing friendships, her worst disappointments, and her greatest accomplishments. She reveals how she went from a childhood of trauma and violence to a career in an industry that in many ways echoed those same assaults, under cover of money and glamour. She describes the strength and meaning she found in her children, and in her humanitarian efforts. And ultimately, she shares how she fought her way back to find not only her truth, but her family’s reconciliation and love.
Stone made headlines not just for her beauty and her talent, but for her candor and her refusal to “play nice,” and it’s those same qualities that make this memoir so powerful. The Beauty of Living Twice is a book for the wounded and a book for the survivors; it’s a celebration of women’s strength and resilience, a reckoning, and a call to activism. It is proof that it’s never too late to raise your voice and speak out.

“In this courageous, daring and tender-hearted memoir, Sharon Stone interrogates her own trauma and a myriad of losses and discovers the gift of clear seeing. “Elegantly written with her wicked sense of humor on full display, the memoir is catnip for fans who have never managed to crack the exterior of the elusive star.” (Vogue)

As I paint my bedroom, I am listening to this book. I love when the authors read it to me. It’s their feelings in their voices that make it come to life. Sharon just says a random number 7:13😳 Holy cow! I look at the clock randomly and it’s 7:13! My husband started noticing it too! Not 7:16 8:02 or 11:33 but 7:13!! That is also my birthday!!
I can relate to Sharon. No, I’m not a beautiful actor. But I too have had health issues most of my life. Endometriosis, neck fusions and I even became paralyzed from the neck down for a week, from a weird potassium issue. In ICU I laid there having to rely on the nurses to take care of me. Feed me, bathed me, sat me on potty’s and wiped me. I lost all dignity for a week. I am estranged from my own mother for the last 17 years. She was a verbal abuser. One day she started abusing my 4 year old beautiful baby boy. I said to myself NO MORE! I’m breaking the cycle!
Sharon’s story is full of tears of pain tears & tears joy, sometimes all at the same time. I have not watched many of her movies. I can say now I’m going to search for them and really remember where she was at in her life
To the haters that gave poor reviews. What the hell are you not understanding? Are you not listening to what she has gone through? She’s gone hell and back. Brain injuries can last forever. I should know. My beautiful baby boy at age 16 was in a car accident. He hit his head. Not real hard but hard enough, to where he changed within days and was diagnosed 4 months later with Schizophrenia. Look at ex football players who have had brain injuries & the pain they have gone through:
So when you listen to Sharons voice & her emotions, please remember that she has clawed her way back from the depths of hell.
I don’t know her, but after listening to her I have immense respect for this beautiful lady!❤️
