While in Paris, Harvard symbologist Robert Langdon is awakened by a phone call in the dead of the night. The elderly curator of the Louvre has been murdered inside the museum, his body covered in baffling symbols. As Langdon and gifted French cryptologist Sophie Neveu sort through the bizarre riddles, they are stunned to discover a trail of clues hidden in the works of Leonardo da Vinci—clues visible for all to see and yet ingeniously disguised by the painter.

Even more startling, the late curator was involved in the Priory of Sion, a secret society whose members included Sir Isaac Newton, Victor Hugo, and Da Vinci, and he guarded a breathtaking historical secret. Unless Langdon and Neveu can decipher the labyrinthine puzzle—while avoiding the faceless adversary who shadows their every move—the explosive, ancient truth will be lost forever.

Robert Langdon returns in The Lost Symbol, Inferno, Origin, and The Secret of Secrets (coming soon)!

This book has two aspects to it: the story and the history. The story itself is a typical fast paced interesting mystery, complete with some twists and turns. I found the story to be average.

What makes this book stand out in my mind is the history it presents. DaVinci's painting of the last supper will never look the same after you read this book.

To me, this book was a pseudo-history book hidden in a mystery book. Bearing in mind that much of the history discussed in the book deals with Catholic religion, having an open mind is a must to enjoy the book.

Fascinating.

This is one of the great books of our time. I have listened to and read most of the great mystery writers of the past 50 years and nothing has caught my attention like this novel. The characters are good but the plot and its details are interesting beyond words. I am going to go buy the illustrated version of the book for my collection. Now I have to research the "facts" of the book to see which are real. Well Done!

Quite simply fascinating!

The only book that has made me look up facts on the web... After a few chapters of listening I was online looking at pictures of the mona lisa, the last supper and various landmarks in France and England. I loved this book

Amazing...

Is this the greatest book off all times? No. I did find it entertaining and learned a little. I found myself researching some of his arguments and theories which made it that much more fun. If your looking for something that you can listen to and not have to think too much, then this is a good read

An OK book

I thought this selection was wonderful! It kept me guessing, and I was surprised more that once. I found the mix of fact and fiction fascinating, and have spent hours on the internet exploring subjects that I never would have otherwise.
The reader was great, and I enjoyed his accents. Overall, I enjoyed this selection, and would choose it again.

Excellent!
