The only edition of the beloved classic that is authorized by Fitzgerald’s family and from his lifelong publisher.

An all-new recording published for the 100th anniversary of The Great Gatsby, this production presents the enduring original text, updated with the author’s own revisions, a foreword by his granddaughter, and with an introduction by National Book Award winner Jesmyn Ward.

The Great Gatsby, F. Scott Fitzgerald’s third book, stands as the supreme achievement of his career. First published by Scribner in 1925, this quintessential novel of the Jazz Age has been acclaimed by generations of readers. The story of the mysteriously wealthy Jay Gatsby and his love for the beautiful Daisy Buchanan is an exquisitely crafted tale of America in the 1920s.

This production by far exceeded my expectations in capturing the essence of the story. The narrator does a superb job giving each character a voice and personality. The recording is great, too. No abrupts cuts or extremely short pauses between paragraphs or chapters. All in all, an excellent audiobook I'd definitely listen to again. And the notes before and after the actual story make this edition unique and very interesting.

Excellent Story, Remarkable Narration!

The narrator is wonderful and his voice adds to this amazing classic - I Listened to it in one sitting. “Read” it again and celebrate 100 years of the Great Gatsby.

100th Anniversary Edition is Fantastic

I purposefully chose to listen to this version of The Great Gatsby because of the narrator. We already know the story, but it *needs* to be heard through Seth's voice and the perspective his narration offers. It felt more real. You feel more involved. It's like sitting right next to Nick Carraway as he's telling you about his life without restraint. I've seen the movies and read the book several times, but Seth's narration made me understand Carraway's perspective, and the depth of it, in a way I hadn't before. You will appreciate The Great Gatsby in a whole new way after listening to this version.

Top notch narration

Sorry, I realize it's a classic but at this point in time, in the twilight of my life, it shows a certain je ne c'est quoi of selfish rich people who never had to learn empathy nor develop any humanity. Very timely in that we are facing the same insult now in 2025 with those very same callow, bigoted people who live only for their own pleasure.

I didn't like it. It mirrors the persistent striving of people to rub elbows with the richest, hoping, coveting that some of their glitter will be shared, it never is. It never makes you happy.

Have integrity and be happy where you are.

What a bunch of vapid jerks!
