Another NK Jemisin book that I love. Why? Because she tells a story I can't guess what's next. She picks me up in the beginning of a ?memory?, a tale and I ride all the way with her to the end, loving not only the story but the people in the tale. The narration is perfect. All blends together perfectly.

I finished another NK Jemisin series recently and couldn't stop listening. Same went for this book. The story is creative and fascinating and beautiful. Not seeing the words made remembering the characters a bit difficult at the beginning but this kept my attention from start to finish. can't wait for the next one ☺️

I'll start by commending the Narrator. She was amazing!!! All of her voices were so distinguished. The story was amazing. I will say that it is much easier to understand the story when you are reading it(easier to notice the flashbacks). I definitely recommend this book.

Enjoyable story. Kept my attention all the way through. I listen to books during my work day and this story kept me glued to my ear buds. Last chapter dragged a tiny bit but it does not take away from the excitement. Eager to listen to book 2!
