A librarian’s discovery of a mysterious book sparks the journey of a lifetime in the delightful new novel from the international bestselling author of The Curious Charms of Arthur Pepper

Librarian Martha Storm has always found it easier to connect with books than people—though not for lack of trying. She keeps careful lists of how to help others in her superhero-themed notebook. And yet, sometimes it feels like she’s invisible.

All of that changes when a book of fairy tales arrives on her doorstep. Inside, Martha finds a dedication written to her by her best friend—her grandmother Zelda—who died under mysterious circumstances years earlier. When Martha discovers a clue within the book that her grandmother may still be alive, she becomes determined to discover the truth. As she delves deeper into Zelda’s past, she unwittingly reveals a family secret that will change her life forever.

Filled with Phaedra Patrick’s signature charm and vivid characters, The Library of Lost and Found is a heartwarming and poignant tale of how one woman must take control of her destiny to write her own happy ending.

This was a wonderful coming of age story about a very late bloomer who mistook her existence as a woman to me that of a doormat.

Great relationships with the characters who were quite well developed.

Highly recommended.

I am torn. this is a really good story. but. way too realistic for me. it made me so sad. Martha is an adventurous, creative girl who becomes a mouse of an adult. everyone takes advantage of her. then she mysteriously receives a book from a dark stranger (well, it's dark outside sooo) and her life takes turns. excellent narrative, lovely story. I yelled at Martha several times while listening. I LOVE LOVE LOVE this author.

melancholy delight

Good story with a very likable main character. Lots of unpeeling of layers of past history to bring to light the reasons for different incidences in her family's past.
A book with an inscription to her is found and it sets of an effort to uncover the past of her long-deceased, but very beloved, grandmother's life and the reasons for so many family schisms. The author created a vivid picture along the way with the way she crafted the descriptions of people, places, and events. It kept me interested and I eneded up I finishing it yesterday morning after only starting it a couple of days before.
The narrator did a great job with pace of reading and with character voices. She was enjoyable to listen to.

this story was not predictable and kept my attention throughout
the past and present were neatly interwoven, providing a tapestry of Martha's family and her personal growth to overcome some of the sadder parts of her life.
I recommend this book.
