When compiling our list of the best fantasy listening out there, we immediately came up against the age-old question: Is this fantasy or science fiction? The distinction is not as clear as you may think. Dragons, elves, and wizards are definitely fantasy, but what about wizards that also fly space ships? (Looking at you, Star Wars.) For the sake of fantasy purity, the top 100 fantasy listens include the best audio works in all manner of fantasy subgenres.

I've read/listened to dozens of fantasy novels. While I can't quite yet place Wight in the same league as a Brandon Sanderson, it's still very exciting--and somewhat rare--to discover an author I can compare favorably with Brent Weeks, Joe Abercrombie, Michael Sullivan, Edward Robertson, etc. I don't think anyone who enjoys these authors' works will be disappointed in this one.

Refreshing Discovery!

I took a gamble with this book. I didn't know what I was getting into. I fell in love with the characters and found myself wanting to listen to it even when I was out of my car (I listen to it on my 45-50 min ride to work.) Tbh I have already listened to the second book and I'm just now writing a review for this one.

Wow

I’m a self proclaimed addicted audiobook listener and I loved this book. There’s a lot of bad fantasy and sci-fi books out there and this book is not among them. Great imagery, fast paced action, and character building. Looking forward to the rest of the series!

the series is incredible. It really picks up by the second book, and just keeps getting better. The whole series is amazing!

I would advise you to stick with it after the first book because the rest of the series, especially book 8, blew me away.

I struggled with the first book a little but....
