Stars Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa - whose Talking Sopranos podcast has become a sensational fan favorite - talk intimately with virtually everyone who has been involved with the show. Who made the phone call that got HBO to launch The Sopranos? What’s the significance of all those eggs? And, what the hell ever happened to the Russian? Michael Imperioli, Steve Schirripa, and the entire cast and crew of The Sopranos have all the answers - and they’re revealing where all the bodies are buried.

Loved the amount of care that went into giving the fans what they wanted to hear. Can tell they wanted to bridge the gap between the fans and their favorite characters.

Really Made With Love

Throughout the entire book .. Why do all of these great actors/actresses sound like novices reading off of a script in front of them? Just doesn't make sense to me?

Great insight on the best series ever but....

I only recently discovered the Talking Soprano podcasts. I was excited about the prospect of starting with the first podcast and working my way to current episodes. Then I noticed that most podcasts ran well over 2 hours, which I found a daunting prospect for binge-listening. So rather than feeling disappointed that Woke Up This Morning is derived from those podcasts, I was thrilled. The Sopranos was such a wonderful series, and I loved learning about the many facets of its production as related by the actors, directors and behind the scenes staff. But that leads to my one disappointment with the book. The actual voices of participants in the show are not recorded in the audio version, either in most cases or in all of them. I found it disconcerting to hear Steve and Michael fake speaking to the individuals they interviewed and have the responses delivered by actors who in many cases sounded nothing like the real people they were meant to portray. That was rather off-putting. But most importantly, the content remained interesting and enlightening. I’m not sorry I added this book to my library. I’ll take my time enjoying the podcast episodes so that I can listen to the actual cast and production staff.

Liked it, for the most part.

I loved how in depth the book got on the show, how so many of the actors, actresses and crew got to participate in the book. You felt like you were apart of the crew while reading this book

Amazing book

Perhaps it was too expensive, but obviously, the real people were interviewed for the book. Aside from Michael Imperioli and Steve Schirripa, none of the actual voices are used. Still a great story and a must for a fan of the Show?

Why not use the actual people?
