About this listen

Penguin presents the audiobook edition of Turtles All the Way Down by John Green, read by Kate Rudd.

Sixteen-year-old Aza never intended to pursue the mystery of fugitive billionaire Russell Pickett, but there's a hundred thousand dollar reward at stake and her Best and Most Fearless Friend, Daisy, is eager to investigate. So together, they navigate the short distance and broad divides that separate them from Russell Pickett's son, Davis.

Aza is trying. She is trying to be a good daughter, a good friend, a good student, and maybe even a good detective, while also living within the ever-tightening spiral of her own thoughts.

In his long-awaited return, John Green, the acclaimed, award-winning author of Looking for Alaska and The Fault in Our Stars, shares Aza's story with shattering, unflinching clarity in this brilliant novel of love, resilience, and the power of lifelong friendship.

Not the best from John Green. A decent listen with a decent story but with some good conversations between Aza and Daisy.

A decent listen...

The narration was good, but I've read better John Green creations. The story was quite depressing and not a lot of plot in it. however it does highlight the reality of psychological issues, but not a lot of story there.

The auther has a way of bringing the characters alive and making you feel them. The story had a lot of detailing and insight into the thoughts of the characters which helps understanding the complicated ways of mind. Aza's anxiety and OCD was something that was handled so well that you start understanding the reasoning behind those emotions. One of the lines that I loved was - "I remember what I've imagined and imagine what I remember."

A story with Tuatara and anxiety

I have a friend who sometimes used to not reply to my messages. It happened on multiple occasions. I knew that she wasn't as happy and cheerful as I was and I had built an image that she was a moody person, bad at heart.
After reading this book, I realised that people can go through anxiety and various problems that they never exhibit. My friend shows the same signs, as the protagonist of this novel, Aza did. After reading this book, I resolved the differences I had with my friend. I understood that all you have to do to make any relationship work is to just care :)

Changed the way I treated moody people
