Filmmaker Oliver Stone and others testified on records pertaining to the assassination of President John F. Kennedy before the House Oversight Committee's Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets. Mr. Stone requested that the task force reopen the investigation into the assassination, including any alleged involvement by the CIA in the incident. According to another witness at the hearing, independent journalist and author Jefferson Morley, the recently declassified files convinced him that three former CIA officials were "responsible for or complicit in the death of the president, either by criminal negligence or covert action." Mr. Morley also testified that he believed Lee Harvey Oswald, the man officially identified as the assassin, was manipulated by the CIA. No direct evidence has implicated the CIA in the assassination.

The Supreme Court heard oral argument in Medina v. Planned Parenthood South Atlantic, a case about South Carolina's attempt to disqualify Planned Parenthood as a Medicaid provider. In 2018, South Carolina Gov. Henry McMaster (R) signed an executive order to disqualify abortion clinics as Medicaid providers, which included a Planned Parenthood affiliate in the state. In response, Planned Parenthood and one of its patients, Julie Edwards, sued the director of the South Carolina Department of Health and Human Services. Lower courts, including the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fourth Circuit, ruled that Ms. Edwards had the right to sue in order to enforce the Medicaid Act's provision that allows individuals to choose a provider of their choice. However, South Carolina's government disagreed and appealed to the Supreme Court.
