Taylor Swift has been linked to Marvel casting rumours for years, but now the speculation has reached her close collaborators. During a recent appearance at Teen Vogue Fest, Spider-Man: Brand New Day star Sadie Sink was asked whether she'd use her Marvel connections to help get Swift cast in the MCU. Her reaction was just as entertaining as the question itself.
During the audience Q&A, a fan brought up the long-running rumours surrounding Sink's mysterious Marvel role before taking the question in a completely unexpected direction.
The fan asked whether, if Sink's character turned out to be Jean Grey and she appeared in future X-Men projects, she'd ask director Jake Schreier and Marvel Studios boss Kevin Feige to cast Taylor Swift as Dazzler because the two had previously worked together.
Laughing, Sink replied, "That was not the question I thought. That went in a whole other direction, but I love it." She then jokingly shut down the idea, adding, "I don't think I have that kind of sway." Her playful response quickly made the rounds online, with fans loving how she handled one of the internet's favourite Marvel theories.
Of course, this isn't a random pairing. Sink and Swift first worked together on All Too Well: The Short Film, which Taylor wrote and directed in 2021. Sink starred opposite Dylan O'Brien in the fan-favourite project, earning praise for bringing the emotional story to life.
The two have remained supportive of each other ever since. Swift even attended Sink's Romeo & Juliet performance in London's West End, while Sink has repeatedly praised Swift's directing skills and said she'd happily work with her again.
The Life of a Showgirl hitmaker has been at the centre of X-Men rumours for years, with fans convinced she'd be the perfect fit for Dazzler, the mutant pop star whose powers turn sound into light. The theory has only grown stronger thanks to Swift's larger-than-life stage performances, sparkling aesthetic, and several reported meetings with Marvel creatives, although nothing has ever been officially confirmed.
The rumours resurfaced once again after Sadie Sink joined the MCU and was widely rumoured to be playing Jean Grey, prompting fans to imagine the duo reuniting on the big screen. For now, though, neither Marvel nor Swift has confirmed any involvement in an X-Men project, leaving Dazzler as one of the MCU's biggest casting mysteries.
