Innovation, science and collaboration come together at the Ardent Mills Innovation Center in Denver. Each year, food scientists, chefs, nutritionists and grain experts test approximately 50,000 samples annually to help ensure flour quality and consistency while exploring new applications for emerging grains and ingredients. It's one way CHS and Ardent Mills are helping connect agriculture to the future of food.

Planning ahead is crucial for your customers' success. Fall is the opportunity to build your fertility plan; evaluating nutrient needs, selecting products and deciding which applications fit this fall, and which are better suited for spring. Planning now creates flexibility, reduces in-season decisions and sets the stage for a successful crop year. When these pieces are in place, growers start the season with fewer unknowns and a stronger foundation for yield.

Through our Cooperative Ventures venture capital fund, CHS and GROWMARK, Inc. continue to work together to find emerging technologies and innovative solutions to help solve on-farm challenges. Today, Cooperative Ventures announced an investment in OpenTug, a Seattle based logistics technology company that optimizes marine logistics and how goods move across waterways. OpenTug’s digital logistics platform helps streamline bulk freight logistics, particularly barge transportation, which is critical for agricultural cooperatives that move grain, fertilizer and other commodities through the supply chain. In addition to our investment in OpenTug, CHS is working to implement the barge management system to build additional efficiency in the company’s supply chain. https://bit.ly/4fAZogh

Innovation in agriculture often starts in the field. Wyoming grower Ron Rabou partnered with Ardent Mills to explore organic wheat and specialty crops, creating new market opportunities while improving soil fertility and moisture conservation on his farm. His story highlights how collaboration across the value chain can help growers adapt to changing consumer demand while maintaining soil fertility.

Geopolitical events – along with changing consumer preferences, growing demand for renewable fuel, weather events and evolving farm policy – have caused a major shift in global agricultural markets. During this period of transformation, CHS is helping producers navigate the uncertainty. Gary Halvorson, executive vice president of enterprise customer development at CHS, said while some of these disruptions are getting harder to predict and manage, CHS remains dedicated to supporting the ag community and working together to create shared success.
