Ready to level up your open source project's security hygiene? Registration is now open for the 2026 Fall Security Slam, running October 5 through November 6. Co-hosted by OpenSSF and CNCF TAG Security, this 30-day virtual event helps open source maintainers improve security posture through tailored hygiene milestones. This year, participation is open to all open source projects across the ecosystem. Maintainers will have access to the Slam Library, direct support from advisors in a dedicated CNCF Slack channel, and new metrics designed to help prepare for regulations like the Cyber Resilience Act. Completing goals earns recognition for your project, plus awards at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America. Read more about the event: https://lnkd.in/eUQ8JtwQ

Making cloud native ubiquitous
About us
Cloud native computing uses an open source software stack to deploy applications as microservices, packaging each part into its own container, and dynamically orchestrating those containers to optimize resource utilization. The Cloud Native Computing Foundation (CNCF) hosts critical components of those software stacks including Kubernetes and Prometheus; brings together the industry’s top developers, end users, and vendors; and serves as a neutral home for collaboration. CNCF is part of The Linux Foundation.

To support 2,000+ engineers running concurrent AI workloads, Sangfor Technologies implemented vGPU slicing to run 8x more models per GPU without adding extra hardware. By building a shared vGPU platform on Kubernetes with Volcano and HAMi, Sangfor enabled fine-grained resource slicing down to 1 percent compute and 256MB memory. This lets large models share a single card alongside smaller workloads under strict isolation. Overall GPU utilization increased by more than 3x, external model invocation costs dropped 50 percent, and platform stability stayed above 95 percent during peak traffic stress testing. AI models can reach hundreds of gigabytes. Getting them onto GPU nodes quickly and efficiently becomes an infrastructure challenge of its own. At KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America, Pavan Madduri of W.W. Grainger and Wenbo Qi of ByteDance will present “Scaling AI Model Distribution with Dragonfly: From HuggingFace to Production GPU Clusters.” Learn how Dragonfly is evolving to support AI model distribution through HuggingFace and ModelScope integrations, transparent container acceleration with dragonfly-injector, and practical patterns for delivering large models across GPU clusters. Join us November 9-12 in Salt Lake City. Every cloud native expert started with a first pod, first pull request, or first slightly mysterious YAML file. The Cloud Native Novice track at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon Europe 2027 needs speakers who can make foundational concepts welcoming and understandable. Propose an introductory session about networking, storage, security, application development, community contribution, or another topic that can help students, early-career professionals, and cloud native newcomers build confidence. Clear explanations can create lifelong contributors. 📅 15-18 March | Barcelona, Spain 🎤 Call for Proposals open through 11 October Submit your idea: https://bit.ly/3SyWDSF #KubeCon #CloudNativeCon #Kubernetes #K8s #CloudNative #OpenSource #OpenSourceSoftware #OpenSourceDevelopment #OpenSourceCommunity #OSS #CNCF #CloudNativeComputingFoundation #events #linux #software #CallForProposals #CallForPapers #CFP #CallForSpeakers

A milestone worth sharing: today we reached 4,500 Kubestronauts and 537 Golden Kubestronauts. One global family. https://lnkd.in/ga2329pJ Every pin on this map is a person who studied hard, failed, tried again, and made it. Seeing your name on this map, earning the Credly badge, and putting on the blue jacket for the first time is a proud moment. Believe me, that feeling is #priceless. The #Kubestronaut program changes lives. It gives people new skills, interesting challenges, better careers, a global community, and friendships that reach across borders. Talent is everywhere, and this map proves it. I am proud to be one of the 4,500 Kubestronauts. Thank you, #CNCF and the #LinuxFoundation, for investing in people. A special thank you to Chris Aniszczyk and Christophe Sauthier for bringing this program to life and changing so many lives along the way. If you are thinking about starting your journey, start today. Send me a message and I will help you begin your #Kubestronaut journey. Upwards and onwards. 🚀 #CNCF #kubestronaut #goldenkubestronaut #KCNA #CKA #CKAD #KCSA #CKSS

Three co-located talks at KubeCon + CloudNativeCon North America. On November 9 in Salt Lake City I am speaking three times across the co-located day. If you are heading to KubeCon NA, here is where to find me. - Inference Is a Black Box (Observability Day, 11:50). How we built GPU-aware observability with Fluent Bit and OpenTelemetry, so you can see what inference workloads are actually doing instead of guessing from host metrics. With Danilo Silva. - Agents Are Not Microservices (Cloud Native AI Day, 14:05). Autonomous AI agents break the assumptions your microservice playbook is built on, from probes and scaling to disruption and communication. With Lanay Marques. - Data-Driven Platform Guardrails (Platform Engineering Day, 16:30). What 16,500 incidents tell you to automate first, so your guardrails come from evidence instead of opinion. With Henrique Galafassi Dalssaso. If you want to talk inference observability, AI agents, or platform engineering, find me between sessions. The hallway track is half the reason to show up. As a CNCF Ambassador I can share a friend code for 25% off registration. Use KCNA26AMB25. See you in Salt Lake City, November 9 to 12. #KubeCon #CloudNative #CNCF #OpenSource #Kubernetes
