This one is quite special for me. Back in 2019, when Dcubed was just getting started, this was the very first actuator we ever sent out to a customer. Seven years later, it is still there — and the team at the Auckland Programme for Space Systems just successfully activated it as part of their end-to-end testing for APSS-2 Kessler. A lot has happened at Dcubed since 2019. We’ve built and shipped many more actuators, grown the team and expanded into solar arrays and much bigger space hardware. But there is something pretty cool about seeing actuator #1 come back into the story seven years later. Congratulations to the entire University of Auckland APSS team for keeping the mission going through all the ups and downs. Looking forward to seeing this little piece of Dcubed history make its way to space!
The pin has been pulled! With a command over the air sent to the CubeSat, from the RF module, to the on-board computer, to the payload, and finally, the pinpuller! With this feat we have validated our communication system and flight software end-to-end for APSS-2! Thank you Dcubed for supporting us with their hardware on our mission!

A special visitor at Dcubed! Last week, we had the great honor of welcoming Hansjörg Durz, Member of the Deutscher Bundestag, to Dcubed. As Chairman of the Bundestag Committee for Digital Affairs and State Modernization and a Member of the Committee for Research, Technology and Space, Mr. Durz is closely involved in shaping Germany’s future in technology, innovation and space. We were proud to give him a look behind the scenes at Dcubed and show him some of the technologies our international team is developing for space missions and customers around the world — from our space-proven release actuators and solar arrays to the technologies enabling the next generation of space infrastructure. We especially appreciated the open discussion about the opportunities and challenges of growing a space technology company with strong roots in Germany and an increasingly global footprint — and what it takes to stay competitive in the rapidly evolving global space economy. Thank you, Hansjörg Durz, for taking the time to visit us, meet the Dcubed Crew and see our technology in action! 🚀 #Dcubed #NewSpace #SpaceTech #Space #Innovation

🚀 𝗧𝗵𝗲 𝗽𝗮𝗻𝗲𝗹 𝗶𝘀 𝘀𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗱𝘂𝗹𝗲𝗱. 𝗬𝗼𝘂𝗿 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗶𝘀𝗻'𝘁. Next week, Dr. Markus Geiss, Chief Commercial Officer at Dcubed, will be at 𝗪𝗼𝗿𝗹𝗱 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲 𝗕𝘂𝘀𝗶𝗻𝗲𝘀𝘀 𝗪𝗲𝗲𝗸 in Paris. 🎤 Markus will be speaking on: 𝗦𝘂𝗯𝘀𝘆𝘀𝘁𝗲𝗺 𝗜𝗻𝗻𝗼𝘃𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗔𝗰𝗿𝗼𝘀𝘀 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗦𝗽𝗮𝗰𝗲𝗰𝗿𝗮𝗳𝘁 📅 September 16 | 16:40-17:25 📍 Summit for Satellite Financing But let's be honest... The most interesting conversations rarely fit into a 45-minute panel. They happen before the session. After the session. And sometimes over a coffee that was supposed to last 10 minutes. ☕😉 If you'd like to discuss mission timelines, spacecraft mechanisms, deployables, or your next program: 📅 𝗥𝗲𝗮𝗰𝗵 𝗼𝘂𝘁 𝘁𝗼 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘂𝘀 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝗯𝗼𝗼𝗸 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗺𝗲𝗲𝘁𝗶𝗻𝗴 (link in the comments 👇) 🤝 Or come say hello after the panel and continue the conversation in person. 𝗣𝗮𝗿𝗶𝘀 𝗶𝘀 𝗯𝘂𝘀𝘆 𝗱𝘂𝗿𝗶𝗻𝗴 𝗪𝗦𝗕𝗪. 𝗠𝗮𝗿𝗸𝘂𝘀' 𝗰𝗮𝗹𝗲𝗻𝗱𝗮𝗿 𝘄𝗶𝗹𝗹 𝗯𝗲 𝘁𝗼𝗼. See you there. 🚀 #WSBW #SpaceBusiness #SpaceTech #NewSpace #SatelliteIndustry #Dcubed

🚀 We’re in orbit — and our tech demo was a full success! What a night for European spaceflight. Last night, Isar Aerospace‘s Spectrum reached orbit from Andøya, Norway, making history as the first privately developed rocket to reach orbit from continental Europe. And we are incredibly proud that Dcubed hardware was along for the ride. 🇪🇺🚀 Even better: we have received confirmation that our in-orbit demonstration was a full success, successfully demonstrating our new release actuator technology in space. ✅ For us, this mission is also a great example of what can happen when ambitious NewSpace companies work together. Isar Aerospace and Dcubed are both building space technology just a few kilometers apart in the Munich area — and last night, technology designed and built in #Bavaria made history together. 🇩🇪 A huge congratulations to the entire Isar Aerospace team. Building an orbital rocket is incredibly hard. Reaching orbit on only your second flight is an amazing achievement. Thank you to our friends at Isar Aerospace for taking us along for this historic ride to space. We are honored to have been part of it — and we can’t wait to see where Spectrum goes next. Onward and upward! 🚀 📸 Photo credit: Isar Aerospace #Dcubed #IsarAerospace #Spectrum #NewSpace #SpaceTech #InOrbitDemonstration #Bavaria #EuropeanSpace

🚀 Welcoming ESA Young Professionals to Dcubed! This week, we had the pleasure of welcoming 20 ESA Young Professionals to our headquarters in Germering for a behind-the-scenes look at Dcubed. After an introduction to our mission and technologies, we headed into our production facilities to see where our solar arrays and space mechanisms come to life — and to discuss how we’re working to build the infrastructure that will enable the next generation of space missions. 🛰️☀️ We always enjoy exchanging ideas with talented young professionals who share our excitement for shaping the future of space. A big thank you to the entire ESA delegation for the great discussions, thoughtful questions, and enthusiasm — and especially to Amalie Pernille Rasmussen, Maureen Allanic and Florian Marmuse for organizing the visit! We’re looking forward to seeing the impact this next generation of space professionals will make. 🚀 #Dcubed European Space Agency - ESA #ESA #Space #NewSpace #SpaceTechnology #TeamSpace
