Formation Bio made #7 on Fast Company's Best Workplaces for Innovators 2026. This recognition reflects how we operate as an AI-native company. One internal system Fast Company highlighted is ARK (AI-ready Repository of Knowledge), our in-house AI platform connecting all internal systems and data, built with permission infrastructure to enable the right people to access the right information. ARK is the connective tissue that helps teams across Formation get more value from all the tools and data at their disposal. As our SVP of People Dale Levine Klasko put it, “This allows us to get the impact of a large organization without the complexity that usually comes with it.” Full write-up here: https://lnkd.in/gKs9VRb3

We're honored to have earned the position of #7 on Fast Company's 2026 100 Best Workplaces for Innovators, and recognized as a winner on the Biotech, Healthcare and Life Sciences list. We’ve created a culture of “citizen builders” by hiring curious, ambitious employees and equipping them with the technology and agency to turn good ideas into innovative new tools and systems, because we believe that's the fastest path to better drug development. Find us on the full list: https://lnkd.in/dJJEm8K4 We're hiring in New York and Boston – open roles are linked below.

Our CEO Benjamine Liu recently sat down with Lance Glinn on NYSE's Inside the ICE House podcast to talk about how and why Formation Bio is tackling the drug development bottleneck, a problem that is only set to grow as the number of drugs at the top of the funnel increases. Earlier this week, I got to join our Boston team on the ground, officially opening Formation Bio's new office in Back Bay and I couldn't be more excited about this new chapter. Boston has always struck me as a place where intellectual pursuit and scientific curiosity are uniquely cherished, and where enterprises are celebrated not just for their financial impact but for their broader social impact. It's also a place where the HHMI professor or the Nobel laureate is as recognizable as the Red Sox starting pitcher (at least in the circles our teams are often in!). As we build this generation's AI-native pharma company, it mattered to us to put down roots there. We believe the quality of the people we're able to attract will be our single biggest competitive advantage in the long run and it's no secret that Boston and Cambridge hold some of the best and brightest in our industry. We've already begun hiring exceptional leaders and teams there, with much more to come. Some of our most important leaders including our CSO + Head of R&D, Michael Ehlers and CBO, David Steinberg are already based here! Michael Ehlers bets #AI can ease the clinical-development bottleneck — but scaling the pipeline for Formation Bio, where he serves as CSO and head of R&D, will also require human judgment. Here's why. https://lnkd.in/gZkTfp7p

How do you predict whether a clinical trial will succeed? That's the question behind Delphi, our multi-agent clinical trial prediction system. We built Delphi to forecast the probability a clinical asset will meet its primary endpoint, using domain-scoped agents that gather evidence in parallel, modular scoring across safety and efficacy, and temporal integrity safeguards that keep our predictions honest. In his latest blog, our Principal Engineer Kenny Peng revisits the Unix philosophy (designing well-defined programs that do one thing well, compose with others, and have a shared interface) as a blueprint for agentic system design. Using biopharma as the test case, Kenny walks through why monolithic pipelines with the workflow hardcoded break down over time, and what composable and legible alternatives require in practice. Worth a read for anyone thinking about system design, not just AI:
The Unix Philosophy has always resonated with me, and I've been thinking for a while now how it applies to agents at Formation Bio. Sharing some insights on how the concept of composability can help us design better agentic systems!
