PT-BR: Eu tenho um homelab onde hospedo meus projetos pessoais. Como o nome sugere, é meu laboratório particular e seguro para testar ideias e experimentar novas tecnologias. Recentemente eu precisava de um registry Docker para armazenar minhas imagens. Estava usando o Sonatype Nexus, que oferece suporte a diversos tipos de pacotes como Go, NPM, PyPI e Docker. Mas a versão community tem um limite diário de 200 mil requisições e eu já estava chegando nesse limite. Na busca por uma alternativa, descobri que o Gitea, que já uso para gerenciar meus repositórios de código, também oferece suporte a registries Docker, além de NPM, Cargo, Go e PyPI. Fiz a migração e o resultado foi excelente: economizei cerca de 600 GB em armazenamento e reduzi o uso de CPU e memória ao desativar o Nexus. Gitea é simplesmente incrível! --- EN: I have a homelab where I host my personal projects. As the name suggests, it’s my own private and safe lab for testing ideas and experimenting with new technologies. Recently, I needed a Docker registry to store my images. I was using Sonatype Nexus, which supports various package types such as Go, NPM, PyPI, and Docker. However, the community version has a daily limit of 200,000 requests, and I was getting close to that limit. While looking for an alternative, I discovered that Gitea, which I already use to manage my code repositories, also supports Docker registries, as well as NPM, Cargo, Go, and PyPI. I completed the migration, and the result was great: I saved around 600 GB of storage and reduced CPU and memory usage by disabling Nexus. Gitea is simply amazing!
