Meet Aveek, a Staff Engineer on the Global Hardware Quality & Reliability team. He’s worked on more than a dozen products at Google — some of them the first of their kind in the industry — and as he puts it, "Every one of them is my baby and I want every one of them to be as successful as it can be.” “I help launch our Google Cloud hardware products, from the initial concept all the way to production,” he explains. “My job involves identification and resolution of hardware failures, using every tool at my disposal, including dabbling with lots and lots of data. I really enjoy the challenges of this role and the wide variety of work our team gets to do.” Before coming to Google, Aveek’s background was in chemical and industrial engineering, and he cites his flexibility as a crucial part of his success in the Cloud enterprise hardware space. "Technical backgrounds vary,” he says, but “I believe in the importance of adaptability — constantly learning, unlearning and relearning. My ultimate goal is to resolve issues collaboratively and respectfully. It's a bonus if the problem aligns with your educational background, but it's not a prerequisite for effective problem-solving.” Ready to take on new challenges like Aveek? One feature I have been really enjoying using is Live in Search – it’s really easy to use and lets you have a voice conversation with Search. The feature brings the best of AI Mode and Google Lens together and allows you to use your phone’s camera to show Search exactly what you’re seeing as well. Right now it’s available in English in the U.S. and here’s how you can try it out: ► First, open the Google app (Android and iOS) and tap the new Live icon under the search bar. ► You can start asking your questions out loud and enable video to share from your camera. ► You can also access Live in Search via Google Lens by selecting the new Live option at the bottom of the screen. Also check out these helpful tips that Liza Ma shared on different ways you can use Search Live! https://lnkd.in/gYxt6QqA

With support from a new #Google.org grant, Sesame Workshop is launching new online safety resources to help children build healthy relationships with technology from a young age. These videos and digital resources feature the Muppets of Sesame Street and teach children, families and caregivers how to create healthy digital habits — from how to “stop and take a breath” when using digital media to prioritizing connections with loved ones. The new resources are available at https://lnkd.in/er5ZjcZn. Plus, beginning in January 2026, hundreds of full Sesame Street episodes are coming to YouTube, making it the largest digital library of Sesame Street content. For Sarita, an AI Specialist on Google Cloud’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Customer Engineering team, her role is all about being a trusted advisor and translator. “My day-to-day work involves designing and implementing agentic AI workflows to unlock new efficiencies, evangelizing the Google Cloud Vertex AI and Agentic platform, collaborating across different teams like Product and Engineering to create production-ready solutions and helping to scale and upskill other teams,” she explains. Sarita partners directly with customers, including executives and VPs, to find solutions that will create new business opportunities and build deep trust. "The most challenging — and also the most rewarding — aspect of my role is bridging the gap between the speed of AI innovation and the nature of the healthcare industry," Sarita says. "The challenge lies in translating the 'art of the possible' with this new technology into practical, reliable and secure solutions." Beyond her technical work, Sarita is a dedicated mentor, coaching women in tech, new hires and early-career professionals. “What I find most fulfilling is acting as a powerful advocate for career growth and belonging. Seeing others succeed and grow is the most rewarding part of this journey,” she shares. Sarita’s advice for anyone on a similar career path is to build a strong internal network. "Don't just put your head down and focus on your individual tasks,” she says. “Be relentlessly curious about what other teams are working on. The biggest challenges are rarely solved alone, and your ability to find and collaborate with the right people is the fastest way to accelerate your learning and your impact." We’re making robots more capable than ever in the physical world. 🤖 Introducing Gemini Robotics 1.5: a new family of models to enable robots to better reason, plan ahead, use digital tools like Google Search, and interact with humans. ⤵️ It’s made up of: 🔹 Gemini Robotics-ER 1.5: This acts as the system's high-level brain, helping it think, see and orchestrate tools. 🔹 Gemini Robotics 1.5: This is responsible for turning instructions into a robot's movements. It can generate an internal dialogue in natural language to improve how it moves. Our system can also transfer knowledge learned across different embodiments, helping them become smarter and more useful. This progress marks an important milestone towards solving AGI in the physical world. Find out why → https://lnkd.in/ecAqnSma

Sometimes the easiest way to figure things out is by talking them out loud with a friend or expert. Now we're making Search even more helpful for more users with this in mind: today, the ability to have a Live conversation with Search officially launched in English in the U.S. — no Labs opt-in required! Say you're stuck trying to figure out how to set up your TV (we’ve all been there 😬) – all you have to do is tap the “Live” icon in the Google app or Lens and then you can ask questions in real time, and get helpful insights from around the web with links on your screen to explore further. You can also activate your camera which lets you ask questions live about what's around you. Really interested in hearing what you think - give it a spin and let us know your feedback!
