Great to see Stripe recommending Known Agents as a go-to resource for understanding which AI agents are accessing your website: https://lnkd.in/gu5gduiz (Known Agents was still called Dark Visitors when this video was recorded.)
Your site is invisible to AI agents. Here's the fix

Known Agents is on Product Hunt today! Please support us there: https://lnkd.in/eMU-n-Cp Here's what we said: Half of your website's traffic isn't human anymore. It's bots and AI agents. Bots aren't new, but AI just made their activity a lot more meaningful. AI agents are now doing things like: • 🛍️ Buying your products and booking reservations • 💻 Reading your docs to implement your tools and code • 📖 Scraping your content to train models • 🔬 Researching your business for competitors The problem is that they're completely hidden from you right now. You're blind to half of your visitors if you're only using a human analytics platform, and you can't optimize what you can't see. Known Agents is "Google Analytics for bots". It lets you see exactly what they're doing on your pages, and how they're referring real humans from AI chat and search platforms. This is a new type of user that's only going to get more important. It's free for the vast majority of websites, and takes 5 minutes to set up. Let me know what you see in your realtime feed. Which bots are visiting, and what surprised you? Feedback is appreciated!

We worked with WIRED to dig into an ongoing wave of mysterious bot traffic. More here:
Here's your internet mystery of the week: Why are bots from Lanzhou scraping the world? US federal government websites, a magazine in India, a blog about a small island off the coast of Canada, personal portfolios, weather forecast platforms, and Shopify sites—a wide range of websites have reported being hit by a massive influx of bots tied to China and Singapore since 2025. Google Analytics, a common tool to parse web traffic, shows that all the Chinese visitors are from one city: Lanzhou/兰州. The bots significantly skewed visitor patterns. In the last 90 days, 14.7% of visits to US gov websites came from Lanzhou & 6.6% came from Singapore, according to analytics.usa.gov. The bot traffic runs through Singapore, and it's unclear how Google Analytics traced them to Lanzhou. But what's more clear is that most of them comes via ISPs associated with Chinese companies Tencent, Alibaba, and Huawei. Still, it could be the companies themselves or their cloud server clients. The good news, at least for now, is that the bots don't seem to have an explicitly malicious purpose. They haven’t been publicly connected to any cyberattack and don't seem to be scanning for vulnerabilities. But the lack of a clear motive also adds to the confusion. Do you know where these bots are from? Message me if you have leads! https://lnkd.in/e5aZfPac

Dark Visitors is now Known Agents - An evolved name for a new era of the internet. Dark Visitors started as a side project: a single web page listing the user agents of the eight AI bots that existed at the time. The goal was to give website owners visibility into the oncoming wave of unseen artificial traffic that was headed their way. Today, we serve thousands of websites and maintain the largest and most accurate list of agents on the internet, considered a gold standard knowledge base across the industry. But with AI bots now in the spotlight, people stopped hearing "dark" as "hidden" the way we intended (like "dark matter"). Instead, they heard "bad." We're not an anti-bot company. We believe the internet is entering a new era where bots use the web as much as humans do, and transparency will replace the endless detection arms race. Companies like OpenAI, Google, and Browserbase are already adopting identification protocols and structured agentic workflows. We're helping businesses navigate this reality in a way that creates value for everyone. Same mission, same features. A name that finally fits where we're headed.
