Most AI content workflows start from zero every time. New chat, new prompt, same generic draft that needs a full rewrite before it's usable. Here's how to stop correcting your AI on the same thing over and over and teach it to remember your preferences automatically. Hanane D. and Joffrey Berti gave Claude Code a small set of files that hold your rules, your voice, and your ideas, so drafting becomes one command. 1️⃣ Give the AI a brain CLAUDE.md holds your rules, your audience, and your no-go list. Set it once and every post sounds like you. 2️⃣ Clone your voice Feed voice.md 10 to 20 posts that already sound like you. Claude picks up your tone, rhythm, and vocabulary. 3️⃣ Mine your expertise for ideas pillars.md sets your themes. idea_bank.md fills with angles from your own knowledge, so you're pulling from a backlog instead of staring at a cursor. 4️⃣ Draft and edit on command The draft-post and edit-post skills run the whole loop: idea in, draft in your voice, you approve and ship. I talk to so many people who find “self-promotion” icky but the truth is if you get over it, you’ll 2-3x your potential career upside. Here’s how to get over the fear: At Maven we work with world-class operators: PMs from OpenAI, designers from Airbnb, MLEs from GitHub. People who are genuinely the best in the world at what they do. And most of them avoid promoting a single thing they make. They think it is icky. Salesy. Beneath them. They worry their peers will quietly judge them. Meanwhile I scroll LinkedIn and watch people with far less experience build followings, land speaking gigs, get their dream roles, and shape the conversation in their industry.  If you're an expert who hates self-promotion, here’s a simple reframe: You're sharing what you know with people who need it. That's a generous act, not a vain one. Start small. Pick one platform and post twice a week about the real work you do. Be honest about what you have not figured out yet because the most credible voices online are the ones willing to admit uncertainty. You do not need to become an influencer, and you can be wildly successful without ever doing this. But it is just one of the easiest and most effective shortcuts available, once you build the mindset to get over the ick. PS Who is the most talented person you know who's terrible at talking about themselves? Tag them below 👇. We'd love to help them build a portfolio career on Maven.

Excited to get an article published on Every Inc. yesterday, particularly given that I've followed them for a long time. I wrote about how I left my corporate job to start my AI and product design business, and what I had to unlearn. Thanks to Jack Cheng, Kate Lee, and other editors at Every for all the effort behind the scenes: the planning, the interviews, the editing. I thought I knew how to write until I experienced their standard for the craft of writing. Thanks to Runqiu (Rachel) Cai for making the connection last November and it finally happened. Here's the article: https://lnkd.in/gZA7seZq

ANNOUNCEMENT: my first Lightning Lesson is up on Maven! I’m stoked to be co-hosting two FREE lightning lessons with my good friend Paden (Founding FDE at Notion). Both are 30 minutes, both are live and actively accepting sign-ups. First one, Break Into Forward Deployed Engineering, is Saturday August 15th. We're covering what FDEs actually do day to day, what the hiring loops are actually screening for, and how to reposition a resume that's currently aimed at the wrong roles. Second one, Why Your AI Pilot Won't Survive Production and How FDEs Fix It, is Saturday August 22nd. This one's for the people already in the seat, watching a promising AI pilot stall out somewhere between the demo and actual production. You can find links to both in the comments, come hang! 👇

150 practitioners have made over $100K on Maven (and 15 have made $1M+). Here’s how you build a successful portfolio career: I’ve watched thousands of people make hundreds or millions online (via Udemy and Maven) as instructors or creators. Here’s what separates those who succeed from those who fail: 1/ Persistence. Many instructors started small ($3k-5k/mo earnings) to test and learn. Once they learn the format, they often create a second or third course and skyrocket. Xinran Ma had only 5-8 students per cohort for 1 year, and when he launched his second course, he 10xed his earnings. 2/ Don’t wait. More than 50% of Maven’s top 10 instructors started without much of an audience or a super senior title. In fact, that made them relatable to the student and gave them the motivation to deliver an amazing experience. Colin Matthews started as an IC PM who simply loved teaching. He saw the AI wave and launched our first AI prototyping course and now is a top 10 earning instructor. 3/ Student-focused. It’s really hard to truly understand what your audience wants and set aside your own ego. Or more importantly, find the intersection between what you’re good at and what people want to learn. But you must. That’s the entire ball game. Sara Davison and Tyler Fisk make $1m+ on Maven. They are singularly obsessed with their students and have built a thriving community. 4/ Hustle. The #1 criteria we look for is whether someone is willing to hustle. These are high upside opportunities - $500K-$4M/year if you make it. To get that kind of upside, you gotta put some elbow grease in. If you do, the rewards are huge. Hamel Husain is one of those - the hustle and tenacity is unmatched. One of my favorite messages I get is when an instructor who never thought they would succeed says they bought a house or put their kid through college off of their earnings. Each time, they thank me for the opportunity. However, the reality is - they did it themselves. They worked hard, took ownership, and reaped the rewards.

Early in my career, I focused almost entirely on performance. Like many, particularly in metrics-based roles, you assume that is the only path to success. During an 8-week Maven strategic leadership masterclass hosted by Ash Seddeek, I was introduced to models that surfaced a new reality: while performance and image play a role, it is exposure and sponsorship that truly drive opportunity. Learning that 60% of career advancement comes from exposure was definitely a lightbulb moment for me. As a Product Marketing Manager for Cisco Networking Academy, one of the longest-standing, purpose-driven, skills-to-jobs programs, I am currently putting those leadership lessons into practice to drive our Global Marketing strategy. So, this opportunity could not have come at a better time! A huge thank you to Telethia Willis for extending the opportunity for me to join this incredible masterclass. Here are 3 super practical takeaways: Free Up: Stop doing what someone else can do. It sounds easy, but when you are used to being an individual contributor, it’s hard to break out of execute mode. Ash teaches that you have to “learn to let go of the small tasks to make room for your unique strategic contribution.” Think Up: Schedule non-negotiable time just to think. Honestly, it took me almost the whole 8 weeks to master this without slipping back into task mode! When is the last time you had quiet time just to think? Not grabbing your phone, or filling the space, just strategic thought. Speak Up: Leaders don’t always aim to be perfect, they share a point of view before they have all the answers to actively shape strategy rather than just solve problems. The cool thing about this cohort was that it was full of leaders from various companies and the diversity of thought was incredible. We explored so many models, tactics, frameworks, and systems that I truly wish I could fit them all into one post. We modeled behaviors, got feedback in real-time, and finished the class with a quarterly micro-strategy sprint to help us operationalize these frameworks with our teams immediately. If you are looking to level up your own leadership, I highly recommend checking out the courses offered by Maven and Ash Seddeek specifically. 💡For the leaders in my network, what was your biggest aha moment or piece of advice you would share when you moved from an individual contributor into a leadership role?

Every founder I know has the same partnerships story. You sign a bunch of partners, they send you zero deals, and six months later you quietly give up. At ElectroNeek and other companies we got past that stage. Partner revenue went from zero to millions. Alex Astafyev took everything we learned there, added his own years in partnerships, and turned it into a course on Maven. He asked me to co-author and I said yes before he finished the sentence. Five live sessions, Aug 17 to Sep 4. Built for founders and SMB owners, not for enterprises with a whole partnerships department. You leave with your ideal partner profile, outreach that actually gets replies, and a 90 day plan to first partner revenue. Ads and outbound only get more expensive. Partnerships get cheaper over time. That's the whole point. Link in the first comment, friends. Do not miss this opportunity to participate.
