Your data, your platform

About us

Your data, your platform! The Stackable Data Platform was designed with openness and flexibility in mind. It provides you with a curated selection of the best open source data apps like Apache Kafka®, Apache Druid, Trino and Apache Spark™. All data apps work together seamlessly, and can be added or removed in no time. Based on Kubernetes, it runs everywhere – on-prem or in the cloud. Use it to create unique and enterprise-class data architectures. For example, it supports modern Data Warehouses, Data Lakehouses, Event Streaming, Machine Learning or Data Meshes. Stackable was founded in 2020 from the community ethos and therefore makes its platform available as an open source product with freely accessible source code with a commercial service and support offering. Only software with non-restrictive, open source licensing is included in Stackable Data Platform meaning you’re free to use it however you want at any scale. We are convinced that the future of software development is open source. With Stackable, we want to go down this path and are looking for bright minds, tinkerers and developers who will accompany us on this path as employees or contributors. Whether it’s a pull request, issue or Github comment – get in touch with us and become part ! The Stackable Data Platform - your modular open source data platform

  • ⚓ Hamburg calling: A week of AI, security & good vibes! Last week, our remote-first team came together in Hamburg for five days of focused collaboration, great food, and real connection. Remote-first works really well for us in day-to-day life - daily meetings, constant exchange, and a team that stays closely connected across distances. But some things you just can't replicate on a screen. It was really great to get together in person again, work side by side and share meals and laughs.  On the technical side, we dove deep into AI best practices and use cases and worked through a range of engineering challenges from raising the bar on customer support, building on five years of experience, to making sure we can ship security patches faster than ever in a world where time-to-exploit keeps shrinking. Away from the keyboards, we tested our teamwork in a multi-challenge tournament full of sport, knowledge, and skill, went on a scavenger hunt through the city and spent an evening on board games. And of course we enjoyed a genuinely excellent variety of food all week: from hearty Northern German classics to Italian and Asian flavors. And as always with a remote-first company: some faces joined us, that we'd only ever seen on a screen - so a special welcome to Stefan Fleckenstein, Daniela Richter, and Kathi, joining us in person for the first time. Glad you were there! 🙌 It was super productive and we had a lot of fun. A big thank you to our organizing team Benedikt Labrenz and Sebastian Bernauer. You made it happen! 💙  #RemoteFirst #TeamBuilding #YourDataYourPlatform

  • 🏆 Stackable Data Platform - Solution of the month in BANKMAGAZIN This month, the German BANKMAGAZIN recognized the Stackable Data Platform as their Solution of the month - a recognition that reflects what we hear from customers in regulated industries every day and what they value about us: → Data sovereignty on European legal grounds is a strategic priority → Freedom from vendor lock-in removes the pressure → Runs on-premise in your own data centers → Fully auditable and DORA & NIS 2 compliant → Modular, standardizable, reproducible - built for your needs, not ours If any of this resonates - we'd love to exchange ideas. #DataSovereignty #DataPlatform #Bankmagazin #YourDataYourPlatform

  • A leading Malaysian bank had a problem: slow queries, complex pipelines, delayed reporting. Sound familiar? Together with our partner Digile, they transformed their entire data ecosystem - moving to a modern lakehouse built on the Stackable Data Platform. The results speak for themselves:  ✅ 90%+ faster queries  ✅ 85% faster reporting  ✅ 99% uptime ✅ 99% table reduction ✅ Zero manual workflows Moments like this are why we do what we do. Seeing our partners and their customers succeed with what we've built together - that's what drives us at Stackable. • Open source is no longer a niche - and events like yesterday prove it. Our co-founder Sönke Liebau joined the Bitkom Working Group Open Source in Frankfurt, where he gave a talk and connected with other passionate minds in the space. It's great to see that companies across every industry are actively engaging with open source - not just as a technology choice, but as a strategic foundation for digital sovereignty and that so many people care as deeply about open source and digital sovereignty as we do at Stackable. #OpenSource #DigitalSovereignty #Bitkom #Stackable

  • 🎉 Welcome, Daniela! Our new Senior Marketing Manager 🎉 We’re excited to introduce Daniela Richter just joined the Stackable team as Senior Marketing Manager. Here’s what drives her: On joining Stackable: ”I am excited to be part of the company at this stage in its development. The Stackable Data Platform is a solid product that has proven itself on the market and is highly valued by customers and the community. I am now looking forward to helping raise awareness of the Stackable Data Platform and expanding our user base. Given current political developments, an open-source solution like the Stackable Data Platform - which ensures data sovereignty - is more critical than ever for businesses and public institutions.” On open source and ethics: ”I especially value the open-source community and its ethical principles. At Stackable, we put these values into practice - for instance, by avoiding tracking cookies. While choices like these may not simplify marketing, they allow us to build trust by leading with transparency and integrity from the start.” On the team culture: "Joining Stackable, I’ve been amazed by how open everyone is - not just to open-source software, but to new ideas, fresh perspectives, and bold ways of thinking. It’s clear that ‘open’ here isn’t just about code; it’s a culture that welcomes innovation and collaboration at every turn.” Beyond the office: “When I’m not at work, you’ll find me at the bouldering gym or out on the rocks. And if I weren’t in tech marketing? I’d likely be working in environmental protection for an NGO - anything to make an impact.” For Daniela, open source is about more than code: “It’s about building a community that takes responsibility.” We’re thrilled to have you on board and can’t wait to see what we’ll achieve together. Welcome at Stackable, Daniela! 🚀 #TeamStackable #YourDataYourPlatform
