This September, Talcott proudly attended two community golf tournaments—bringing colleagues together to support great causes with a little friendly competition. Early this month, we participated in the Boys & Girls Clubs of Hartford Golf Tournament with one foursome. Congratulations to Kyle Rudnik, FSA, CERA and Kyle Filbert, ASA who won closest to the pin and longest drive, respectively! We also joined the NABA Greater Hartford Chapter for their annual tournament, coordinating three foursomes and continuing our commitment to community engagement and relationship-building. Leaps of Faith Adaptive Skiers is a local nonprofit organization dedicated to helping individuals with disabilities experience the joy of water and snow skiing. Founded by former national champion waterski jumper Joel Zeisler, the organization provides free clinics, specialized equipment, and volunteer-led instruction to make outdoor sports accessible to all. We’d like to highlight Mark Coogan from Talcott’s procurement department as a dedicated volunteer with Leaps of Faith! As part of Mark’s commitment to inclusive recreation and community impact, he works with the organization to facilitate downhill snow skiing lessons for those with both visible and non-visible limitations.    Thank you for all your fantastic volunteer work, Mark! #community #helpinghands #volunteerwork #talcottcares

This summer, Talcott reaffirmed its commitment to support local charities through various acts of community involvement. Team members volunteered with Connecticut Foodshare and Second Harvest Heartland, helping to provide meals to families in need. Additionally, Talcott donated backpacks filled with school supplies to teachers at Betances Magnet School in Hartford, CT, supporting their and their students’ academic success. These efforts reflect the values at the heart of our organization and our core charitable causes - combating food insecurity, providing educational support, and uplifting local charities and community programs. Talcott would like to commemorate two Bermuda holidays - Emancipation Day and Mary Prince Day. This year, these holidays fall on July 31 and August 1, respectively. This marks the start of Bermuda’s Cup Match holiday, an annual island-wide event. Cup Match is more than just a cricket rivalry between Somerset Cricket Club and St. George's Cricket Club—it’s a vibrant celebration of freedom, culture, and community. These two days honor Bermuda’s history, commemorate the abolition of slavery, and pay tribute to the legacy of Mary Prince, a national hero and symbol of resilience.
