They got me, friends. C'est la vie. I'm a jumble of thoughts and emotions, but mostly relief. I was miserable for the last year and a half and it'll be nice to feel something different. Obviously, tons of love for Halo and the people who worked on it. And, thoughts about this industry of mine. I'm going to take a bit, lick my wounds, and listen to the silence for just a bit. That said, if you've always wanted to see my bright shinning smile in your office, have I got a great opportunity for you! Be kind to folks (in general, sure. But, definitely with my Halo people today).
Sad day :( For games industry jobs you might find options at https://devquest.gg/
Hey Ron. I'm going to use this opportunity to ask you a question specifically about your former studio but maybe will help me understand the trend over the last decade + inside game studios. Were dissenting opinions punished as to chill the rest of the staff? There were so many obvious missteps with the Halo franchise its really hard to believe nobody inside was speaking out.
Ron is an executor, champ of the people, tastemaker of team culture, operational leader, and about a million other qualities of professional epicness. I wish I had a Ron at every single studio I’d ever been at… but then it wouldn’t be THE Ron Brown. This unmistakable and undeniable force for good. He WILL change the game wherever you plug him in.
Ron is an excellent all rounder for anyone hiring community or coordination stuff for a big studio.
Ron has impacted more people than he will ever realize. So many times I saw Ron walking down the hall, in the parking lot, or just sitting at his desk and he didn't even know what he did for my outlook in life. But as a sometimes introvert I also know all that energy sometimes needs a moment to re-charge. Charge up my friend, charge up.
Ron! I was only there for a short time, many years ago at the beginning of my career. Your energy and enthusiasm was the highlight of the studio culture, wherever you land next will be lucky to have you!
Ron - it’s been a pleasure working with you these past few years. Your energy is unmatched!!
I can’t put into words the impact you’ve had on me, Ron. From my intern days until the very end, you made being at Halo so much better and I’m gonna miss your energy a lot. I hope we get to cross paths again soon
I know we haven't been able to work together long, but you have been an absolutely delight for the entire Galactic Armory team. We truly appreciate working with you over the last year to bring the life size projects together. I can't wait to see what you do next. I know it's going to be filled with greatness. ♥️
Love you man. Gonna miss our weekly run ins. Please don’t be a stranger
