First US state to issue a stablecoin 👏 The State of Wyoming did such a move and announced the mainnet launch of its Frontier Stablecoin Token (FRNT). The token is live on seven blockchains, namely Ethereum, Solana, Arbitrum, Avalance, Polygon, Optimism, and Base. According to the accompanied press release, the token is not yet available to the public due to regulatory hurdles. Why is it interesting? Because this stablecoin has a different focus and approach than existing stablecoins. FRNT has the goal to boost efficiency in government processes, such as paying vendors in seconds and enabling tax refunds and social benefits, on-chain. The income generated from the underlying reserves, will go into the "state wallet" and become part of the budget for the State of Wyoming. Inevitably, Worldcoin has a well-funded blockchain-based rival. There will be more. This is the primary reason why blockchains aren't the right tools for solving broadly interoperable digital identity. There are many reasons why not blockchain--privacy, performance, regulatory compliance, scalability, cost, credential binding, key management, and more--but interop-inhibiting "ledger lock" is the biggest. So, Reap's first entry point into stables were fiat-backed stablecoins...but yield-bearing stablecoins are definitely having a breakout moment. A recent Cointelegraph article reports that after the GENIUS Act in the U.S., supply of tokens like USDe (+70%) and USDS (+23%) has surged — making yield the new baseline for stablecoin design. Here's why it matters to me: 📜 Regulation as catalyst → The Act forced issuers to rethink, and protocols stepped in with staking-based yields. 🪙 Yield as table stakes → 'Passive' stablecoins risk becoming obsolete as users demand returns. 🤨 Trust & design → Security, peg stability, and transparent mechanisms are now the differentiators. We’re entering an era where stablecoins aren’t just digital dollars but yield-generating financial primitives. This is one trend we’re staying close to as it will shape the future of global payments and the infrastructure businesses will rely on.

It's finally out! 🎉 🔎 Today we published our latest research article called "Beyond Reserves: Linking Blockchain Performance to Stablecoin Stability" in collaboration with TRON DAO. 🙌 🔎 Stablecoins are foundational to DeFi, trading, and payments, yet peg reliability remains under scrutiny. Periodic deviations continue to raise questions about the resilience of issuers and the full set of factors underpinning peg maintenance. 💡 Particula’s latest research moves beyond issuer reserves to evaluate how blockchain performance metrics - such as throughput, latency, and finality - relate to peg stability. The study examines eight major networks and focuses on Circle's USD Coin (USDC) and Tether.io's (USDT) over the period January 1, 2022 to July 31, 2025.
