“Hao was my manager at Twitter for an AI Research project. However, throughout my time at Twitter, he was not only my manager but also my mentor. He took the time to help me learn a range of new skills despite his busy schedule and gave me detailed advice on my future educational and professional pursuits. I saw him offer this same dedicated mentorship to other student interns as well. As a manager and engineer, Hao has a very strong knowledge of not only current AI methods but also product development and deployment - he is a consistent source of insight for not only our team but many others across Twitter. He is also able to clearly communicate with the team about the goals and objectives for our projects. I never felt confused about my tasks or expectations, and Hao was always available to answer any questions I did have. He created an environment where each member of the team, including interns, felt comfortable expressing opinions, offering constructive criticism, and asking questions/seeking support. I have rarely had the opportunity to work for a team that runs as smoothly as Hao’s, and I would be thrilled to do so again. I have no doubt that Hao would be highly effective as a manager for any team, and is well-suited for senior leadership roles.”
